Can't freedive anywhere near the depth I shot him but I did shoot a 36 and a 32# almaco freediving the same day...

Fish did kick my arsh... Here's the story: It was my third dive of the day and was diving on a rig that has produced well in the past. Me and Chris flip and I get down to about 60 feet on my way to the bottom and see a 35# cobia and couldn't pass it up so I stoned it (which rarely happens for me on cobia) and strung it up and begin to kick down and realize I forgot my weight belt. At that point I said screw going to the boat and kicked down the best I could with cobe in tow. I got down near the bottom passing up a large school of snaps and many gags looking for mr willy. When I got there I was pretty winded and no willy home so just as I started up I see outside the rig two large jacks that I knew instantly I wanted to shoot. The smaller one about 90#s, never saw me, but the large one did and came in CLOSE and I told myself to take my time and stone it. Well, shot high and no stone so hang on! Long story short at one point I told myself "about ten more seconds of this and F the gun- he can have it!" It beat my PB by 20lbs and I'm still so STOKED! 114.6OZ
