Near the end of a 2 week dive trip out of Key West, Keyskiller joined us for a run to the Marquesas. We buzzed out w/ calm seas @ 38 knots on my antique Scarab cc w/ 2X 225 OMC Seadrives.. 35 minutes later drift diving on a roll off to 115 fsw 2 miles west of CB bouy . Brad missed 1 grouper and later shot a really nice one. I got a nice 6 lb Keys hog. Vis was great 60-80 feet , maybe more. I clipped a peanut bouy to me and the boat followed us giving us tremedous freedom of range. We could come up the roll off and still hunt while doing the saftey stops. Steve Moore and I found this spot 3 winters ago.
Next we did some shallow reef drops , just a mile away.
I shot a black grouper @ the end of my dive and he holed up , sent my dive buddy back to boat for another shaft. I stuck him again, but now he's wedged in and Im down to 60psi. I blow and go , watching the nurse sharks circle in on my grouper. Breaking the surface , I yell for Brad like a madman. Hep me, Hep me the sharks are stealing my grouper. Keyskiller flew off the boat w/ his free diving gear like superman out of the phone booth to help me[Homer Simpson]:bounce:By the time I was back on the Scarab, Brad was swiming up w/my grouper. What a save!!Great day on the water. Did 3 more drops , got bugs and hogs. Keyskiller posted a pix of some of the haul.

How was the vis in shallow water? 20? 50? 80? Was it super clear everywhere?

Hell I thought the pic was pretty good for 2am,,, If I knew how to photo shop I could of done better but....

I will try rach has to go back to school monday so we may be doing something (I dont know what??) but I was told we "maybe" doing something lol. Trav is comming down?? thought he was going shooten??
