Hey, first post just sayin hello. I am brand spankin new to freediving and spearfishing. I already like this forum, you have a Chuck Norris emoticon. that's cool. Anyhow, I should be getting my gear tomorrow in the mail. I got a JBL 31" custom gun (short I know, but do not plan on doing any bluewater diving till the beginning of next year, no boat), a pair of Cressi 3000 fins, and a Cressi big eyes mask. Hopefully I can get out this weekend to do some shore diving. Gotta find a place though. I kinda wish I would have read the newbie spearfishing thread before I ordered the gun, would have went bigger.

If you really get into this, you'll have a whole stable full of guns before too long. This is a great forum to learn from. There are a lot of big time spearos on this site so don't be afraid to ask questions. Above all, go slow, be safe, and have FUN!! I hope that you bust a big one this w/e.

I hear ya about the C notes not growing in my garden! Too bad I already have my eyes on a Sea Sniper!! if I put my mind to it and sell some knives I could have it by next summer. I also deploy in January so that is 4 to 6 months I have to save money too. Taking a trip to Marathon or Largo to break it in would be schweet!!
