Edit: Just added new pics in post #11
Our crew, including Wahoo, SeaRen, and myself, left well before sunrise in hopes of getting in on the early morning action. We checked out a new spot that was covered in curious amberjacks which made for some good video shots, but none of our targeted species were around, so we moved on.
The next spot was what we were looking for. Shouts of "African pompano!" were ringing out everywhere and soon a bright, gleaming specimen was boated. We proceeded to land several big APs and had a blast.
We also were able to witness a special treat for freedivers - One HUGE spotted eagle ray, then seconds later a billfish (we think it was a blue marlin) came by to check us out and gave us a close look. Unfortunately these two moments were fleeting and no pics.
One again, it was an epic trip. Keep an eye out for video.
Edit: I just posted a short video, see post #7.
