In the spirit of supporting the ONLY organization that truly represents our small community (ie speardivers) as well as the interests of all recreational users of our marine resources I am donating this hybrid rail gun to be auctioned off for the cause. Although my family is facing some financial difficulty at this time with the unexpected loss of my wife's job due to "efficiency" cut backs at the company I will do whatever possible to help the FRA in any way I can. This weekend I was out on the water and I realized this hobby of mine is sometimes the only thing that seems to offer relief from the myriad of stresses that life sometimes thrusts upon us. I encourage everyone who can to look around for any items that can help towards our goal of providing as much support as possible to this great organization.

PS the gun is a hybrid in that is is a 120cm RA barrel, RA double band muzzle & RA shaft. The handle is a cressi sub handle and it has had the factory safety intentionally removed. The rubbers are 20mm and a might on the strong side. If someone with less experience, arm length or strength gets the gun I will offer to replace the band with either a 16mm or 18mm band to any length they desire. The bands will be new as I will tie them up to order. The gun has new mono shooting line and crimps installed as well as a new bungy and stainless quick release snap with ball bearing swivel. This gun currently has a old style RA shaft that has been modified to work in the handle but this gun will accept new Vecta RA shafts with no modification required for them to function properly. JC and I shot the gun this weekend and it performed flawlessly. I hope it serves it's next owner as well as it has served me. Thanks again Denny for all that you do for our community.

This gun is still available. I guess it just slipped through the cracks but I realized it is still here in my dive closet. I have several more pictures of it and can write a detailed description of it if it is to go on e-bay. If it stays here in this section and anyone has interest in it or questions fire away I will be glad to respond to help get it gone and simultaneously get some much needed funds to the FRA. My offer to rig it with a custom new band of any length of 16mm, 18mm or 20mm rubber still stands.

That's a generous offer, and very considerate of you.

One question, though. In the picture of you holding the gun --
Is the gun still loaded and in the boat?

I accept that different people may have different views on handling loaded guns, but it tends to be the sort of behavior that one doesn't want to encourage. Glad nobody was hurt, and you're still around to make this offer.

Yeah Brian something like that. Hard to put a exact number on it but all things considered that is a fair estimate.
