Im tired and dont feel like putting up a story so I shall just put some pics up and give them titles. All I can comment on is the thanks on the invite out to the east side buoys and though the boat moved at like 5mph I was greatful. :yay:
So the most thrilling thing today was that my Wahoo was chased by a shark and I horsed up the Wahoo. Well the shark came up with it. For most of you who havent done b/w, palegic sharks have some balls. He darted back and forth from the fish in my hands to my flasher. I did have the thaught of feeding this shark but no one was really near me to film it. With one hand with a fish and spear and the other with the camera I did all I could to get what little crappy video of the shark. The shark wouldnt leave me alone and eventually it became a neusance and I asked Rob to poke it with his spear. Not knowing that he was saving his own landed Mahi, he went down and poked the shark in the tail sending it back into the depths from which it came.
If anyone plans on using Rob as a model I will rent him out to you cheap.

Between myself and Rob. He shot the 2 biggest mahi, I shot a medium one, I shot 4 wahoo. :D

No we didnt go out with Paul this time. I dont know whats happening this Sunday yet but will let you know.

Nah a friends father in law had a tank so we chartered it for a day. Seriously this thing moved at like five clicks until it was time to go home then the guy cranked it up to twenty clicks. Kev do you have a pic of the tank?

I can say that it looked like it was made of concrete! It was a beast! I felt bad for any reef that thing has ever struck.

That's hilarious, the catch must of been worth it as long as you weren't going backwards. It must be nice just dropping off a boat, then swimming through the break. So do the Mahi take your float or are you able to fight them to the surface?

For the most part and then some just break off and come up to you if your still enough. Chum and flashers help.

We exercise the catch and release program to stunt more shark activity in these waters. You just dont see enough sharks :p
Well some goes to our Capt, some we gave to people that didnt shoot any fish that day, one we kept, the rest we exhange for the grandest of feasts at a shushi restuarant. :yay:

Filleted, vacuum sealed and frozen. Waiting for the peanut oil and deep fryer.

Thanks Joe!!! The wahoo you got on pole, were they bigger than the ones we got? I dont think Wahoo get too big around here. Surely not like the big 50+lbers I have seen people pull out of Hawaii.

The one's we got on pole weren't much bigger than the ones you got. They were deep though, around 125-150 ft deep. The spring is the best time for big Mahi/Wahoo, but I haven't seen any as big as they catch out of Hawaii.

I've got another H&L trip for this coming weekend. A bunch of guy from my office wanted to get out.

If anyone is interested in doing a H&L trip on Sat, PM me and I'll give you all the details. I've got room for 2 more folks.
