Also check your post on the other site i replied to it. salamispear 09-15-2007, 03:49 PM PM sent. Hardcore 09-15-2007, 03:53 PM ok I need to get this cleared up...which hold more air hp120's OR lp120's They both hold 120 Cu.Ft. of gas at there rated working fill pressure. If you or your dive shop will overfill the low pressure tanks then they can hold more gas, But they are a bigger Dia. 8". The HP120's are popular because they are the same Dia. as an alum 80 and only a few inches taller, This makes for a easy transition if your like me and have some Alum. 80's & some Hp 120's. bgbill 09-15-2007, 07:23 PM ok I need to get this cleared up...which hold more air hp120's OR lp120's It depends, an overepressurized LP will hold more gas than a HP filled to its working pressure. I prefer an LP over an HP even though I own a bunch of each, it is easier to get a full fill in an LP than an HP, even some shops short fill HP tanks, I have had short fills on my HP 120's from EZ Scuba, as well as most shops in the Keys, yet it isn't difficult to get 3,000 psi in an LP tank, even though they are rated for 2640. It seems like a lot of shops will fill all tanks to 3,000 psi, I think this is because that is the working pressure of aluminum 80's and that is what most shops fill. jerry1001 09-15-2007, 08:14 PM It depends, an overepressurized LP will hold more gas than a HP filled to its working pressure. I got my 95's filled there a couple times after clearwater went under and whoever was working in your shop said that their company policy was 3,000 psi and he wasn't allowed to do more... jerry1001 09-15-2007, 11:11 PM That's funny you say that. Um, you can call BS on me all you want. But I was in the store. I dropped off the tanks. I went back to pick them up and anaylzed them. I asked what they get filled to. He said about 3,000-3,200 but weren't allowed to do any more. I said ok, I wasn't gonna fight it. But I never drove over from Clearwater again. Definitely NOT worth it. I only dropped those off because my sister lives in Brandon and I had to go out there anyway. I'm sorry to derail the thread. But I don't lie. Maybe that person doesn't work there anymore. But that's what I was told. jerry1001 09-15-2007, 11:26 PM no problem sean if you ever need a big fill ill take care of it for you .. |
