Well my dads gun is like a 20+ year old ab biller and it desparately needs to be refinished. Now he had this wonderful idea to use the teak oil from my riffe gun to try and redo his gun wich didnt work b/c the billers have like a laquer on them. How would I fix this without buying a new stock?
thanks

SAND IT WITH LIGHT COURSE SAND PAPER AND SEAL IT WITH MINWAX POLYURETHANE CLEAR GLOSS SPRAY, LET IT DRY FOR ABOUT 8 HRS AND YOU ARE SET.

Pretty much what I did. I sanded it down using one of those black and decker detail sanders and finished it up with hand sanding with some fine grit paper. I decided I wanted mine to be darker so I stained it with a deep stain and next I am going to seal it with a marine teak lacquer sealant.

When you take it apart you may have some issues with the hardware fitting a bit loosely. You may have to seal the original screw holes and/or use larger screws.

In my case I am going to shorten it up a bit and make a rock gun out of it and just use fresh holes.

I hand sanded my old biller to give to my daughter, then put two coats of outdoor polyurethane and it looks better than when i bought it.
Before you seal it up personalize it a little ie: Name, Measurements, Phone # etc.
