I built one a while back. Haven't messed around the woodshop in about a year. I've got a 3/8" Enclosed Track bit if you want to build an enclosed track. The trigger mechanism is the biggest pain in the arse.

I used the Kadena woodshop and it has all the necessary tools. The Router Table sucked, hopefully they have a new one. I recommend Gorilla Glue for laminating the sheets of wood. Let me know what you need.

Yeah I used gorilla glue to laminate the block I have now. It worked out well on my second try. The first time I didn't clamp it tight enough so there where very thin gaps between the wood. I may need some tips at some point so I may be asking on here. I bought two bits for enclosed bits. Which kind of bit is yours? I was planning on using the router on kadena but I might not now. It looks alright, what was the biggest problem with it? Hey Brownsuit your welcome to come to the woodshop and try it out with me. Ive got some basic woodworking skills but nothing tremendous.

My bit is round that has a little bit of a neck on it and its for a 1/2" collett. I haven't been in the woodshop in almost a year, but the plunge router wouldn't go up or down smoothly, the fence was hard to adjust and the vacuum wouldn't clear out the material when you cut. They were trying to get a new plunge router and table, so hopefully it works fine now. I had the same problem with my first blank, I had little spaces, but a bought a few more clamps and it worked like a champ. Why type of wood did you use? Let me know if you need some help in the shop I don't mind swinging by.

The Planer and Jointer are awesome at the woodshop though. They were the biggest life savers when getting your plank straight. Good luck.

Alright I give in. What handle do you really want me to make you on the mill? I was concerned with the trigger/spring. What are you going to use to cut out the slot for that? You know what I am talking about? :absolut:

Is that going to be a metal handle? That'll look awesome!!

Well I was going to try and go with an aluminum middle piece about 1/2" wide and then finish with a wood grip. I went with the mahagony for my first time. I want to make a teak gun but I have no idea where to buy it here. Steve from poseidonsub said he would get me some from cali if I want. Joe I may need help at some point. Im just going to see how this goes but I will more than likely will mess up. Lots of practice before to come before the real trigger pocket and track is cut.

Use a few scraps at the woodshop, cut them to your blanks dimensions and cut the shit out of them. The track isn't too bad, but the trigger pocket, that's a royal pain in the ass. If you have your own personal plunge router, it would make it easier.

There's a Teak furniture store on Hwy 330 near the Legion Gate. I bet they could get you some Teak. Might be cheaper than getting it from Cali.

Should be real easy to get some teak, I mean the majority of the teak comes from Burma and Thailand. Although, I have not tried I would think that it would be easy to get ever from here. Worst case scenario Mori sells the the teak stocks that are already laminated for $125 I believe. Have you guys ever painted/epoxy your own gun?

I will defenitely check that place out. Do they speak english there? I really don't want to resort to buying a blank from someone else. That would take all the fun out of it. I have never painted a gun but I got some tips for black epoxy using the west systems epoxy and some black pigment.

I might be going to Thailand... :awink: So I could pick you some teak up if I get out there.
Your going to have to explain this handle as we attempt to make it this weekend.

It would be in January but its a race to who gets a passport the first. Im in no hurry. I hate traveling for just a few days, its a pain in the butt more than it is pleasure. I could be in crutches again around that time anyhow. But if it was ment to be it will happen.
I want to try out my slip tip I made someday. You can use the poseidon and try it out since you are use to that type of gun. I made the slide ring finally! I just got to rig my gun with the amber bands and it will be straight. I dont even know where to start with that. Last time I remember the black bands on there stretch to what feels like thier limit.

Time for bed, its way past my bed time.
Later

*edit* you know Blue Visions is the best vid :p Stanage Bay scene (aka Coral Trout Rape scene) is like the only one I watch. They sure can hit a lot of crap with those single bands. Too bad they dont show much other than them drop bombing things.
