Is there a big difference between the Rabitech stealth and the Apex? I looked on the website and really couldnt find a big difference besides the colors and comfort grip.Does anyone prefer one or the other?
thanks

The Apex is the flagship of the Rabitech line. I beleive it has a different trigger mech than the Stealth. Other than that, the only difference I see is that the Apex comes with a 7.9mm shaft in the larger sizes.

I have held the Apex and didn't like the handle shape. It reminded me of the thin but wide shape of the AB Billers. It looks like the Stealth handle would be more comfortable because it is more round in cross-section.

The Apex I saw also had an open muzzle. I don't know if that was aftermarket or not. Check with Eric at www.sumora.com. Edit: Rabitech makes an open muzzle.

If I was going to buy one, I would probably go with the stealth just because of the handle.

:iagree: The Apex handle is very solidly built with a smooth stainless steel trigger mech. However, it's small and tapered at the bottom. I just never could get used to that. It always felt very awkward in my hand. I guess you could wrap rubber tape around it to mold it for a better fit. The Stealth has a fatter handle and is more comfortable. I'd borrow the guns if you can and and use them. Just handling them out of the water doesn't give you a reliable feel of how you would like them when hunting. Some really good divers swear by the Apex.

I say the apex is the best handle I have ever felt. It fits perfect and holds the gun at the right angle. I havent found a gun I prefer better yet. The internals are all Stainless Steel. The Stealth grip is a rubber type and has no mold for your fingers. Its just a round and fatter grip. The stealth has a plastic line release unlike the apex and the butt can be removed as well. I have both and love both but for some reason the apex takes more fish and I perfer the feel as well. Now if you dont wear a glove I would say the handle on the apex seems rather skinny but with a glove it fits right.
Just my take.
