looking for a replacement for my busted D3, I'm not getting suunto again. I've had a bad experience, I know another 2-3 divers who have had problems after a year or two, mine lasted 2.

looking for something in the $300-$400 range. would like something that is nice and can be used as a sports watch as well, unlike the D3...

thanks

If I had to purchase another computer, I'd look into the Cressi Sub EDY. I currently dive with a Suunto Mosquito btw.

Give Kevin at Hammerhead a call. They're distributing some new Immersion watches that were really well received at DEMA. I feel your Suunto-related pain. My first D3, which I purchased online, crapped out on me in less than a year and left me holding the bag. I stepped up and bought another D3 at a brick-and-mortar which has treated me pretty well for a few years now as both a dive watch and a gym watch.

Good luck and let us know which watch you choose.

Gixxer uses an Oceanic Geo I think, and it's a pretty sporty watch that he wears on a regular basis. It has Freedive mode along with some scuba related modes.

Check out the Immersion Prowler.

I'm using an Oceanic Atom 2, which doubles as a wireless air-integrated scuba computer also.
Miked said Immersion has some awesome watches like the Prowler, and some low profile daily wear watches with freedive computers.

The Immersion watches are sweet. Best dive watch that doesn't look like a dive watch.

I sell a fair amount of the Oceanic Geos to freedivers and I haven't gotten anything back but good reports. And Oceanic stands by their computers better than anyone. They actually make their own computers! And they make them for most of the diving manufacturers out there. Give me a PM if you have questions or just want to try one. (not to make this sound like a sales pitch, but we do match any internet pricing, but with brick and mortar service).
