Looking for Romance

No, I'm not trying to turn this into adultfriendfinder.com!:D
Its my wife and I's wedding anniversary this weekend and I'm looking for something to do.
I first thought the idea of just staying home and not diving this weekend would be enough for her, but then I figured with her being pregnant that this may be a last hoorah, so to speak, for awhile.

I want to take her someplace not too far away for the weekend. A nice resort or hotel that doesn't break the ole wallet. Someplace that has a few things to do during the day but has a laid back atmosphere to just relax for the most part.
Someplace within an hour or two drive of West Central Florida would be good.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

It's a little further than 2 hours but St. Augustine is one of our favorite places to go.

Congrats on the little one Rich!! http://spearfishingplanet.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

What's wrong with an MG trip? Stuff to do during the day, lay back and relax at night! I'll take ya out on my boat... :)
Does it get any more romantic than that?!?!?

On a more serious note, Flagler Beach is supposed to be pretty cool. Lots of cool stuff to do. My family has been there a few times.

Flagler Beach is situated south of Jacksonville between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. This quaint town has a population of only 3800, and combines natural scenic beauty with an ideal year round climate. The town of Flagler Beach is bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the west by the Intracoastal Waterway with its marshes and wetlands. Over six miles of quiet, pristine beach offers visitors a variety of outdoor recreation, including swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, snorkeling, surfing, golf and tennis. You can ride bicycles along the Atlantic Ocean for over twenty miles, walk from downtown Flagler Beach to the Intracoastal Waterway to view the wetlands, or take an eco-tour from Wickline Park to Flagship Harbor Park. Flagler Beach has outdoor cafes, restaurants and pubs, gift shops and lots of motels, hotels and other rental options. Every Friday in Flagler Beach brings an old-fashioned farmer’s market to the center or town where you can find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables, to baked goods, nuts and plants. Visit during the 4th of July and enjoy a spectacular display of fireworks from the end of the Pier. During the rest of the year there are always arts & crafts fairs, live music, local entertainment and other special events to enjoy. All of this, plus Flagler Beach is only 15 miles to famous Daytona Beach.

I have yet to make it, but I hear the Bed & Breakfast's in St. Augustine are the way to go. Good Luck.

By the time you drive 3 hours away, you might as well have just got yourself a room at the Don Cesar and wined and dined her...

Spend a little of that pile of cash on the wife and yourself now, Rich, cause after the baby comes all focus will change!

Maybe take her to a resort over there, on the beach, and has a day spa. Buy her a full day at the spa. Big points worth many spearing trips in the future.

Plus, while she is at the spa, go fishing, diving or go find a titty bar. She would never know what you did since she is at the spa all day.

Also, those bed and breakfasts in St. Augustine ain't cheap. I went there with my wife and left with a lighter wallet. I wouldn't stay in St. Augustine for more than one night and one day...the fort sucks after you have seen it once, and quite honestly if you ain't into boutique shopping stay the hell out of downtown.

Take her out on the boat so she can float on her belly, pick up shells, and look at stuff...aka scalloping. :D

Seriously, it's pretty relaxing and something she might enjoy. You could stay somewhere around Homassa. There's some things to do and see around there too. Springs, state parks, etc...

Dude just go diving, for god's sake she's pregnant, what more can you do for her, You'll be stuck changing diapers and reading reports soon enough.
Dive while you can.:D

Buy her a day at a nice Spa and go diving.

Just bring back a nice hogfish and cook her dinner. :p

Keep in mind I've never been married:o

South Seas Plantation on Captiva

About 15 years ago I got liquored up there, and the next thing you know I'm asking this chick to marry me. The place just oozes romance

I took a girlfriend on a weekend getaway to Orlando to see Circ de Sole.

It was a relaxing and memorable weekend.

I was going to recommend that and a stay at Portofino Bay at Universal with dinner at Emerils. As long as you can avoid the crowds, it would be a nice time.
