View Full Version : Replace Handle vs. Buy a RA?

I know I have made a lot of seperate posts about guns lately but I will sum it up in this one. I bought a used sea hornet that had a small crack in the handle. The gun worked fine but after my latest trip I noticed that the crack had gotten bigger. It will be about $90 to replace the handle on the sea hornet. However I am considering trying out a railgun on scuba. I noticed a few guys freeshaft with the rob allen guns. I can get a 110 rob allen for $230 brand new. I know that a rob allen or any euro style gun will be hard to load the first few times until I get the hang of it. Does anyone have experience with a rob allen or any euro gun on scuba. Would I be better off replacing the handle or just buying a new gun?

have you called around to see if you can get a better price on a handle?

an AB Biller will fit and they have less flex than a sea hornet.

I asked the guy in the dive shop about a biller handle and he said that it wouldn't fit.

They will fit, if you live anywhere near Plant City I can help you install it.

I shoot a RA 120 on scuba, it's not too difficult but make yourself what I call a "maxi pad"(since we know what those are for) by taking a couple pieces of neoprene back to back, sew em together, and stick it in your suit at chest level. I say it's not too difficult, but then again it's my first gun so I have nothing to compare it to.
