So, which one are you guys going to?
I'm planning on the Puertecitos thing. Just need to get my mex. fishing license and new bands/shooting line for my Aimrite. I'll still bring my polespear though.

Junior division?! Austin, that ain't right.:pissed:;)
Puertecitos for me. Not into the compitition thing much just yet. For me it's about the adventure and just getting in the water. Heck I wuold be stocked just to get a fish! Thank for the reminder on the mex license. Do you know if it's a stamp that you get for your existing one or if it's a whole new license? Also where is a good place to get them sports chalet, sportsmart or do you have to go to a special shop?

According to Mackfish over on SB, you can get a mex license anywhere they sell CA licenses. It is a separate license though.

Like most things he says, it's not quite true.
I know of four places here in SD. Seaforth Landing, Fisherman's landing (pricey @ $59/yr when it's only $42 at the Mex. office (PESCA or something like that also has it). I believe Squidco also sells them. I think Squidco is cheapest. Seaforth would be second.
Mike, you might want to talk to a few people who went to the last open to get their impressions on the whole thing. I know undrh2ohnter (or however the f#$K you spell it :p) went to the last one.

Fair enough. Thanks for the heads up Nate. Really, I'm just going because I've never been spearing in Mexico and my buddies who are going with me kind of just want to go hang out and relax for the weekend.

Those are pretty good reason for going. Have a good time. I think the only time you don't need a Mex. fishing license is when you're fishing(hook and line) from shore. I'm pretty sure they'll say that you need a lic. if you swim from shore though.

The grouper and snapper situation is also a good reason to attend!
