It shouldn't be a surprise that many traditional conservatives feel the Republican party has lost its way.

What is surprising to me is that the democrats in only 6 months in the majority (it took the republicans 6 years to be so complacent as to turn away from ideals) are being power-hungry-soundbite chasers.

Recent legislation:

Free speech? There's legislation being put forward that radio stations which have conservative talk radio will be required to have equal time for liberal ones. This is so unbelievable to a party traditionally championing free speech and protests that I'm aghast. Hell, will it apply to NPR (which I have to admit in recent years has become more balanced). Imagine a show espousing the right to bear arms- and then having to give equal time to some control freak who wants to take it away? NFW.

How about this gem? The dems want a 'mortgage czar' to handle the current mortgage crisis. What a load of hooey. I think we can only blame the republicans for installing czars-de-jour.

What I think is screwed up, the Democrats will not come to Florida to campaign, because Florida moved its primary up, yet the democrats come to Florida to raise money.

They don't want the delegates votes to count, yet the want the money, that goes to show what is really important to the Democratic party.

Weren't the democrats the ones crying about disenfranchising voters, yet they want to be selective as to which votes count.

Pretty sad day for the Democrat party when the BEST offerings they can bring to the primary are: 1.) The articulate but inexperienced junior Senator from Illinois with a demonstrated history of accomplishing...not much. 2.) Well, you know the other choice....an individual who has a proven history of slimy deals, wacky ideas, "convenient lapses of memory", and has shown herself to be power-mad to the point of doing ANYTHING to gain more power and influence. Are there NO experienced, honest, statesmen-like candidates with honor and integrity left in the Democrat party...???

I agree- it is slim pickings on either side. Hilary could run as a Republican- and Guliani could be a democrat. Scary.
