I just got my new RA with Riffe shaft and Ice-pick. There is a small string connected to the cable. Does anyone have one and know what its for or how to rig it if necissary? Thanks

It should go from the tip to the collar that goes around your shaft. Then most people put some electrical tape around there shaft to keep the collar from going into the muzzle and tuck the loose string under one of the bands after you load it.

Nice gun. I have the same one. questions for you:

Have you had any trouble with accuracy?

What kind of reel do you have on there?

I think I understand what your saying. I thought it might have something to do with keeping the slip tip tight so it doesnt fall off when your diving.
Hey Skiny, I havent shot it yet, I just got it friday night. Hoping to try it tomorrow if the weather is better than today. Its the Ra stainless steel reel. I have tons of problems with my Tuna 110, I had to have a new trigger sent out and I got some bands and a new shaft to try and fix the accuracy on that gun. Well see what happens with that. Are you telling me your gun is inaccurate? please dont cuz I got enough problems haha.

Yeah by tucking to loose line coming from the tip under one of your bands after its cocked will hold it in place.

Let me stir the pot a little for you guys. Although I have 2 other guns, I have been using the same old faithful Riffe No Ka Oi for almost 13 years with NO problems. Never had any trigger problems or anything break.
Up until I bought the Riffe, I owned a couple alumi guns and had the exact same issues you guys are experiencing. Those guns required constant maintenance ie trigger work, resealing the tube.

The maintenance on my Riffe = rinsing after each dive. Although the initial cost was expensive ($550 when I got it) it has been worth every penny. :BoomSmilie_anim:

True. Riffe is the best gun out there. No maintenance, and they are proven to be the most accurate guns under $4,500.00. In fact, I just leave my euro 120 in the water at my favorite dive spot and put a rock on top of it. Whenever I show up it has usually already shot a fish. Did I mention how accurate it was?? Paul Smith has one. How's that for accurate?

Mine is the CF 120cm RA camo. I wouldn't say the gun is inaccurate, but I will say that it is different shooting it than it was my Aimrite 90cm. I think it's just going to take some getting use to. I shot my Aimrite almost every weekend for 5 months or more, and I got use to it.

Should every different gun made by different companies aim/shoot the same? I don't know. It's a sweet gun, and I shot the fish in my avatar with it. I didn't get a head shot on it, and I think it's partly because of the difference between this gun and my other gun.

We just got back from up North, it was beautiful. Lots a big fish and great water. The new gun is freakin deadly, I only shot twice but man it was good, smooth trigger, no kick and deadly accurate, I love it:smthumbup:. I gotta get a regular floppered shaft so I dont have to worry about messing up the ice-pick. Overall its a great gun. Thanks for everyones input and help. Next week I should have the 110 sniper accurate as well. Anyway we shot a few nice coral trout and taman, saw some trevs and asstd other fish. were going tomorrow if anyone wants to tag along or meet up. Not sure where yet but probly north west side again.

Anyone have a plan for tomorrow?
:fish:

I intend to go north of Motobu somewhere, but don't have a firm plan yet. Low tide up there is around 11:30. I want to be in the water before then.
