Everytime I buy something I look at them but I never have ordered one, a little expensive for a dvd. I tried downloading some off limewire but there arent any on there. My favs are Nsyg and the gang. What a life huh.

I "borrowed" a copy of these vids from Finbreaker. They are great! I watch them over and over again, especially when the weather sucks or I'm on call and can't go in the water.

Hahahaha, that is some funny stuff Kev, but be careful because some people won't know you're joking and will go waste their money on that stinker!!! For those who don't know, that is the worst vid ever made. It is the only one that I couldn't sit through. I (and other friends I have talked to) turned it on, sat through the first 30 minutes of it, and never turned it on again. The original "Immersion" and "The Best of Hawaii Skin Diver - Volume 1" are my two favorite. The follow up videos were also good. I have about ten vids, but oddly I never got any of Dale's "Gone to Baja" dvds and I have always heard great things about them.

Actually it would because it would mean a lot to me with the people who were there with me. The slow boat ride to the bouys, the jokes, the pokin, and all the good times. It will be something to remember the great Reyton by.

It will remind me of when I dove 92ft to shoot a Makabu and then proceeded to dive 102ft to retrieve it. Being my first time that deep and for that long, someone in a sense was there to make sure I made it back up. I have seen a lot of big fish on your stringer. Also I would have never thaught I could have done a bw trip but you and Eioble made it possible though it takes about 2 hours to get 20km its worth it.

But the best thing of all about that video would be the massive Marlin I shoot and land

Jim,

In all honesty that is my favorite vid. I havent found another vid where they shoot as many different kinds of fish. I could care less about the interviews and such, I just like to see the fish and environments.
The video is impressive I think. They shoot everything with single banded euro guns to include Marlin and the relentless dogtooth. Ya its boring to watch from begining to end but I cant help to watch the coral trout section of stanage bay. You really get a feel for how the fish react unlike in HSD II the coral trout, though bigger, are dumb and just stay still. The ones in Blue Visions act just like the ones here. The first HSD does a good job of showing you how fish react and such.
All in all blue visions isnt bad if you just open your mind up to it and look for the details. Hell I cant watch a movie from start to finish, I always skip through it.
The last movie I saw from start to finish and I couldnt get away from is Surfs Up. Heck ya, that crap was hilarious!

Kev,

Maybe I have been too quick to judge it, after all I haven't sat through the whole video. It's just I have spoken with other guys who couldn't sit through it either. You have motivated me to pop it in the dvd player and give it another try tonight (with the sound off of course) :) . The local Aussie band he used for the score was a bit rough!

I'm sure my wife Diane will be thrilled to death that I am making her sit with me to watch another spearfsihing video. She may want to give you a call and thank you personally!!!

I would agree it is too long but if you watch the individual chapters they are great. The diversity of species and environment is pretty cool.

I can't believe some of you are dogging Blue Visions. That is definatley one of my favorites. Too long?? Seriously? Maybe it's just me, but I've never found a spearfishing DVD to be too long! I see absolutely nothing wrong with nearly two hours of non-stop impact shots. I always watch it with headphones on though, while exercising. Maybe that's why. I love how it's broken down first by species, and then second by locale.....

You guys dogging it are nuts!

I guess it all boils down to personal preference, it is indeed my least favorite but as I stated earlier I am going to watch it again tonight. Same as regular movies I suppose, some people will like a certain movie and some people will not.

The reason I shut it off as I recall, was that it was just a video of repetitive shots. Maybe it got better further into it. Tonight I will start watching it about 20 minutes after the beginning and see if it will change my personal opinion.

Its not too long, its just hard to sit through the whole thing start to finish. Hell I like it and its the only vid I watch, prefereably the stanage bay portion. What other video do they shoot huge Black spot tusk fish, Marlin, dogtooth, parrot fish, Trevelly, wahoo, grouper, snapper, etc. Sheeeit I think they shoot every fish of the sea except Mahi.

Indeed Mr. Doe. Truthfully, the vid is a little bit repetitive. But like I said, i usually watch it (and all DVD's for that matter) while I am exercising, so there is something else going on. I don't know if I could just sit down on my couch and watch it straight through.

Also, as an aside, I have been emailing with Brett Craik the last couple of days and he has gone out of his way to give me some great info about NZ and Australia. Super nice guy. But I realize this isn't a thread about the merits of people producing spearfishing DVD's..... So, back to the topic at hand!

This is the indo pacific section. There is no such thing as on topic for threads :D

How could I forget my buddy Cameron Kirkonnell? His Wetdreams vid was entertaining. I wonder when the second one is coming out?
