I've received a few questions about my gear I used on my recent Baja trip. So I thought I'd post a few pictures of them.

The squirtgun is a 150cm two band euro gun that is water ballasted. It's shooting a 7.5mm 180cm RA shaft and has a Demka handle (Josh with Neptonics can get these for you). This gun's water ballasting is based off the original designs of Chris Chaput and his Sea Sniper guns (thanks Chris!) with a few tweaks of my own. Chris allowed me to do work in his shop and helped me out quite a bit on this gun too. The shape is based of Mario Korf's carbon gun but removes his enclosed track. Mario also helped me out enormously too.

The 2x4 was the first gun I made and it's one of my uglies. But these uglies work! It shoots a 63" 11/32" shaft with a Kitto reefmaster tip. And is also rear handle with the handle as high up as you can get. This gun was built with a lot of help of Mario Korf too. Also don't blame Mario on the shape. That's all me!

Lastly I designed and built a fish board based off the South African designs. But mine fits into the bottom of my cooler. It's 1'x2'x4". This board really helped me suck up a lot of fish. Josh with Neptonics may start selling this design so stay tuned.

All in all I was very happy with my gear!

Nice guns Art. What size bands are you shooting?

What ever happened to the fabled white fence post gun?

The fence post is in "the shop" I've got a handle just haven't put the handle back on yet. The squirtgun using 34" 5/8" bands and the 2x4 uses 28.5" 5/8" bands.

The 150cm, simple and nice! What keeps the shaft from leaving the track, I dont see a pin to route the shooting line?

Nice board too.

Boards got a cam cleat so when you pull in the bungee it can only go one way.

And the muzzle of the 150 has the pins molded into it.

If these are the pins than it's f*cking brilliant, unless they can break off easily.

Those are the pins.

And I hope it doesn't break off. That muzzle is sorta one of a kind. It's an old Sturgill muzzle that Mario had laying around. But the pins didn't have any issues when I used them.

Thanks. It worked really well sucking back all my wahoo. Made it super simple too and kept all the loose line away from me.

That's not a chupacabra, it's a cabra, more specifically a male cabra.

This could be a rare illustration of a chupacabra:
