I don't think so. I think the hybrids are very nice!

I was sworn to secrecy but apparently Rick has let the cat out of the bag so I will at least speak to the Venom. If you like the Aimrite Railgun and if you like RA(s) or Rabitechs, then you should love the Venom. The one pictured looks like the carbon. The one I have “been intimate” with is the aluminum. The barrel is identical to the current Aimrite Railgun (the fancy colored barrels) but with a VERY COOL brown camouflage pattern (like desert camo). The gun is quieter than my RAs, Riffes (I have never owned but shot), Aimrite Railgun, Wong Hybrid, Beauchat, etc… I literally heard nothing but only saw my spear sticking out of a CT’s head. The safety is not noticeable and easily removed if you don’t care for such. Trigger is wide allowing for nice contact. I noticed no recoil to the gun. Loading is simple. I am not a fan of the little Euro butt (I like big butts and I can not lie…), yet I didn’t even notice such when loading. I was very impressed with the site picture as well. Lastly, I really like the fact that it uses Rob Allen shafts which are proven as being very strong and reliable (plus I have an extra one from my 130).

Although I will not be able to make it to the tourney (wife got pregnant, had a kid, and now expects me to spend time with it at softball games and such) I know of a couple of guys who will be participating. I will see about sending such out with them for any interested to take a look at. If such falls through, then feel free to link up with me and you can give it a whirl at a later date. Just keep in mind that I hold the “shallow dive world record” (I stayed on the surface, with fins, for 6 min, 38 sec). Good luck to all on Saturday and BE SAFE!!!!
