View Full Version : Keith is MORE Expensive than a Crack Habit!!!
Financial Advis 10-15-2007, 06:09 PM So this guy puts up a post about auctioning off a pig hunt on his little ranch in the middle of Florida. I think to myself....self?...why dont ya try that there thing and bid on it. Much to my suprise I LOST but Jerry (BubbleJunkie) let me go anyway. I did not see any pigs but had a lot of fun anyway. Keith invites us back for another round so I have to go buy me a pretty new gun. Lo and behold I manage to shoot me one of them there piggy critters weighing in at ...oh....maybe 20 pounds.
Gun: 1,700 dollars
Bullets: 780 dollars
Camo Stuff: 120 dollars
Pig: 20 pounds
2600/10=260 a pound!
But still priceless
So good guy Keith comes up with a new strategy.......DOVE hunting! YAY!!!!
Well now I have aquired a taste for "pretty" guns and decide what the heck. Lets get a good one. Ok....maybe not so good that I need a second mortgage but he tells me to get a Benelli and I go montafeltro silver. It is just a blast with Chuck, Chris Grauer, Eric , Keith and myself sitting around a dove field blasting away like fools and missing like crazy. It was still fun as hell though.
Gun: 1,400 dollars
Bullets: 60 dollars
Doves: 2 Pounds
1460/2=730 a pound.
Getting Dinner like this...priceless.
Thank You again Keith.
If he ever puts up for another auction you should bid on it. But watch out because he can really begin to dent your wallet.
bgbill 10-15-2007, 07:51 PM Chris,
If this is the hog that you said weighed 20 lbs, you need to get your eyes checked and redo your math, That piglet, may go 10 lbs. :)
Financial Advis 10-15-2007, 09:09 PM look at the calc. I moved it to 10
Gunny 10-16-2007, 09:18 AM Damn what kind of gun did you buy, $1700-$1400:eek:
Good shooting though, knocked that little bastard off of the teet and didn't hit any of the pigs in the litter:lol:
Financial Advis 10-16-2007, 10:56 AM A Tekka T3 Deluxe with Trijicon TR22 scope. The scope is with out a doubt just amazing. Last weekend I took an 85 pound female at 7:44 p.m. I believe that with any other scope I would have left 20 minutes prior. The damn thing even has radioactive isotopes that allow the triangle to glow in the dark so you can put it on a black blob and still hit it.
WonderBoy 10-16-2007, 11:10 AM Trijicon makes good stuff. I have their night sites on my Kimber .45, my Glock 32 and I had them on my Sig-Sauer when I sold it. I didn't know they were manufacturing scopes. I wonder if someone else is building the bodies and they're just doing the reticles.
Gunny 10-16-2007, 12:30 PM Sounds like some hi tech shizit for a piney woods rooter
to each his own
i'll stick with my Rem.700
threw-er-back 10-16-2007, 03:13 PM Um a 35# pit and a hunk of rope works too. :biggrinangelA:
Cherokee Spear 10-16-2007, 03:19 PM Um a 35# pit and a hunk of rope works too. :biggrinangelA:
Agreed, don't need the rope for those size piglets though... The dog will have it killed before you catch up to it!
sremsen 10-16-2007, 03:44 PM $780 for bullets and a 20# pig to show for it. How many times did you shoot at it before you hit the thing.:D
Gunny 10-16-2007, 05:26 PM Shit we used to run those that small down on foot in Gulf Hammock,..I'm 99.9% sure that won't happen now,.......unless he only has 3 legs and smokes

Ah...but that's where Chris's $300 penny loafers come in handy.
Gunny 10-16-2007, 05:53 PM I dont know Chris & no offense to him but:lol:

Your rifle is a Tikka, not a Tekka.
How many other scopes have you used in your vast hunting experience?

Yea, it is funny...but the guy is a player and he's got some game so cut 'em a little slack. He's pretty much ready to roll on what you throw at 'em. He's like a git 'er done city boy. :D

Not many but I did do some asking, including you, in regards to which scopes so far that I have used.
Trijicon TR22
Leupold VXIII
Nikon Monarch (I did not really get a chance to work with this one).
Mueller
BSA
and one rally crappy scope mounted on a .300 Magnum.
Without a doubt if my scope had only black crosshairs I would not have been able to center them and I would not have taken the shot.
Thank you for correcting my spelling.
sharpshooter 10-18-2007, 01:25 PM Common Chris, we all know your just looking for an excuse to buy a real scope like Swarovski or Zeiss. That's what you put on a $1700 rifle.
