Who cares, hopefully the good people and spearfisherman/women that have abandoned that site recently and in the past will find this one and we can build a more successful community based on our love of the sport. Not how much money it could make.

I personally would like to see a way to sponser this site, other than posts, i.e. T-shirts, hats and such. I would buy T-shirts, hopefully they would have a pocket on the front and a nice print not some cheesy logo. :FIREdevil:

We are working on the logo. I too would like to see more positive progress like we have already seen here. A refocusing on what is important. More trip reports, more buddy hookups when people are traveling, more help given when newbies ask. I can't believe how much good there is in this community if we just work together instead of against each other.

As far as merchandise, we are perfecting our logo and site artwork. Then we will have a permanent logo to put on stickers, coozies, shirts, etc. Let's get the final artwork first.

Our site promotes all spearfishing events and activities that support diver's rights worldwide.

It seems like in any sport or activity, when someone tries to commercialize it or market it or turn it into a profitable source of income, it distracts from the pure soul of the sport. New demands are created, new requirements are set, a politicized stance is taken.

I don't know about the most of you, but I'm in it only for simple pleasures. The simple pleasure of the plunge into blue water. Of the stone shot. Of breaking my personal records. Of the dinner. Of the friendships and fellowships of other spearfishermen/women. Its just what I've been doing for a long while, its a part of my life and it makes me happy.

And I just want to be a part of a community of those who feel the same. We all can stand together in unity to protect our sport to pass on to our children and their children.

This is that community, we are the unified, and together we will defend and honor the sport that has become personal and important to us all.

I think this site is going in the right direction and look forward to watching it grow. I'm all for keeping it simple and keeping it real. The less drama the better.

I think it would make a cool shirt. A pic of a 40lb gag that has just been stoned. The head, the normal gag color, and everything aft of the shaft that bleached out white gag color with just the faintest trickle of green blood coming out of the hole.

I'm now 43 and true to my brother the optometrists word, fishing line now seems to be made in much smaller diameters than a mere 5 years ago. The glasses are also the reason for my request of a pocket.

Last time I was down there we had a good number of hogs, but that was three weeks ago and they move around a lot this time of year. I castrated 10 pigs this spring and I'm watching them close. They are now about 20 pounds. Another 20 and they'll be worth killing. Between the good weather and the damn heat, I really don't have much interest in hunting this time of year, but if we get blown out one weekend and you feel like coming down, let me know. I assume you still have my number. If not let me know.

I'm tied up this weekend with some cowboys that want to go fishing, but after that I have a few free. If the weather's nice, maybe we'll get our pig hunting crew together and stick some fish, since 3 of the 4 of us now have boats.

Thanks Keith. One bright spot in this whole mess is that I think that its brought those of us that are here closer together as a community. I've lost count of the people that I've spoken with and exchanged emails and PMs with these last few days. As aggravated as we all are with Tony, I think that all would agree that we are in a better place now - one with the freedom and opportunity to get back to what Speaboard was like before Tony and his forced homoginization. Chris and Howie have done a great job building this forum - tirelessly choosing to focus on quality and greatness rather than fighting with Tony. It's really great to see that so many good people with so much to contribute have joined us here. It is a tremendous relief to be gone from the other place. I look forward to seeing everyone in person at the St. Pete Open.
