A few friends and I are discussing another trip to Yoron Island in mid November. Is anyone here up for a trip in this time frame.
I would be taking my van and we would split the cost of shipping it. When we went last time it was 25,000 yen for the van and me, and 5300yen each for 3 more people. Basically 40,000 yen total that was split 4 ways. I can fit 4 people in my van with gear.

There is a slammin minshiku there - like a mini-hotel - 2000yen per night with a free breakfast. They have A/C, showers, bathroom, hoses outside for washing gear, etc. They have a big deep freezer that they said we could use. The coolest dood across the street cooked up our fish too. Skiny's gara was incredible. I would love to live there....if there were any jobs.

Hit near the port. My secret sorce told me he saw dogtooth there. Not sure exactly where but Im thinking either around the rock to the left when you come in or way right.
Check the north too. Im pretty sure currents run through there.
If you see a doggie big as you and your using a flopper.... :D Yup you got it, "oh no, anotha fish story" you would be tellin. :D
Ideal shot on a dogtooth...Dive bomb the top of the head. From any other angle and your fighting thier tough gill plate to get in the head. Also if you can get your spear in thier eye socket, he wont fight as much and its a good anchoring point. Slip tip... Well unless your shooting the new record, anywhere in the meat should be ok.

We did see a Mahi near the port there when our boat was leaving. I was surprised to see one so close to shore.

early November? Im definetly interested. My buddies went up there in aug and had ablast, they also said the area around the port was the best. I got alot of stuff going on in Nov but Im not sure what dates.

More than 4 people can go. My van can only fit 4 people at one time. I will run trips to the port and back to the hotel if more people want to go.

Leave is submitted, just waiting to get the new custom Aquasub float line in, and I'll be all set. I should probably order some new shafts first too....... ?????

I think we'll be getting some bigger fish than that this time around. What do you think? If I could have shot at those 2 Ulua I saw when I first entered the water that first day, that would have been nice. I'm sure I would have been without a shaft for my gun if I had though.

So is this trip full up? If anyone else wants to go and has a good vehicle for this trip I'm in.

Yup, we could use two vehicles. My van works perfectly with 4 people and I know we have more than 4 wanting to go. I can run trips to and from the minshuku to the port, but for spearing 4 per vehicle works out best.

How do you guys get all these days off? Too bad, I have stand by :banghead:. Hope you can find the right spots. :toast:
