View Full Version : What style lead do you like? Noah 10-18-2007, 05:13 PM I've seen some bullet shaped lead that looks neat but what do you all prefer? Speareasy 10-18-2007, 05:18 PM I like these but have not been able to find a source. Noah 10-18-2007, 06:34 PM Yeah I remember you guys talkin about those, did you figure out the best way to make a mold to make them yourself? Maybe plaster of paris or wood? Speareasy 10-18-2007, 06:44 PM The best way to make one would appear to be to conatct Dagodiver :D Amphibious 10-18-2007, 07:53 PM standard block lead works best for me. I have a D-weight mould (like the one pictured above) haven't used it yet. I find that style of weight "digs in" much more then the block weight, and is no more hydrodynamic. Bill McIntyre 10-18-2007, 08:24 PM I like the ones like Speareasy showed. They take up less room on the belt per unit of weight, are nice and sleek, and at a weight of 1.5 pounds each, adding or removing one moves my neutral depth just a few feet. I got them from Florida Freedivers years ago, but I hear he doesn't have them any more cww180 10-18-2007, 08:37 PM Isn't it led? Bill McIntyre 10-18-2007, 08:40 PM Isn't it led? Maybe yours are led, but mine are lead. cww180 10-18-2007, 09:26 PM That was a joke, I guess I'm the only one who got it? I like to plastic coated ones myself Gixxer 10-22-2007, 12:50 PM I did not know any better when I bought the gear, I am rockin the shot bags. I might switch over to plain jane lead now that I am rockin the wetsuit. I did not want the regular weights chafing. |
