Skinydiver 10-22-2007, 07:23 AM When are you placing the order? Dude, I ate some Sashimi from a CT grouper that I shot today. mmmm, mmm, good. Choke Fish 10-22-2007, 10:59 AM When are you placing the order? Dude, I ate some Sashimi from a CT grouper that I shot today. mmmm, mmm, good. Ya that mess is goood! My order is already placed. Just waiting on stuff to come in. Let me know. jimdoe2you 10-22-2007, 12:20 PM I am expecting the footpockets from france in about one week, so we have a few days for everyone to add to the order and save on shipping. Sending a bunch of shafts is a lot cheaper than sending a single shaft, and it is wise to stock up and have spares instead of having a sigle shaft shipped around the globe everytime one gets bent (or melted ;)). :) parker 10-22-2007, 06:47 PM Mr. Aquasub man - Do you have shafts that fit Riffe? If so, what lengths around 60"+/- and what diameters? jimdoe2you 10-22-2007, 07:16 PM Mr. Aquasub man - Do you have shafts that fit Riffe? If so, what lengths around 60"+/- and what diameters? Tell me what you need or want. I have threaded, Tahitian, and Hawaiian shafts in 1/4", 9/32", 5/16", and 3/8". You are probably interested in the 55", 60", or 65" lengths. :) parker 10-22-2007, 08:27 PM Tell me what you need or want. I currently have a few 65" x 5/16. They have a 16" overhang from end of muzzle to tip of shaft. I'm interested in trying 1/4 and 9/32 for around the reef. 60" shafts would have an 11" overhang, which I think is enough. Please let me know your opinion. jimdoe2you 10-22-2007, 08:50 PM Hawaiian shafts for my No Ka Oi. I currently have a few 65" x 5/16. They have a 16" overhang from end of muzzle to tip of shaft. The factory shaft for that gun is the 60" x 5/6" threaded, but your 65" Hawaiian works the same. I wouldn't lug and swing that behemoth around so I could shoot a 1/4" shaft for light hunting, I would invest in another gun like a Riffe Euro X 110cm or one of the many other guns or euroguns to choose from. If adding to your arsenal isn't in the stars right now, you can go with a 9/32" shaft and just use two bands. No guarantee this shaft and two of your existing bands will be a 100% perfect match, but I would say that it will be pretty darn close. parker 10-22-2007, 09:29 PM Jim, I've not had the pleasure of trying out the Riffe Euro yet, but isn't the Euro 110 and No Ka Oi similar in size? According to their webpage the Euro 110 has a stock length of 135cm (53") and shoots a 152cm (60") shaft with 26.5" bands. The No Ka Oi stock length is 55" and uses 26" bands, and it's a mid-handle. Thanks for your feedback. parker 10-22-2007, 10:37 PM Jim, I've not had the pleasure of trying out the Riffe Euro yet, but isn't the Euro 110 and No Ka Oi similar in size? Thanks for your feedback. I goofed the numbers on my initial post. I corrected them now. TEAM DTT 10-22-2007, 11:50 PM I goofed the numbers on my initial post. I corrected them now. I have the euro 120 (57" stock, 63" shaft) if you ever want to try it. I usually compare guns based on the length of their shaft. The gun manufacturers have about 10 different ways of measuring their guns. By measuring their shafts I get a better picture of the overall length of the gun. Breathless shoots a 130cm Rob Allen which is a big gun too. It all depends on what you like. A NoKaOi would be a fine reef gun for me. It looks similar in function to my euro 120. cww180 10-23-2007, 12:33 AM Comparing shafts is a good way of comparing but also compare the band pull. Typically a hybrid has more band packed into a smaller size gun. While a 50" hybrid uses the shaft size of a 100 or 110 the band pull is equivalent of 120. kitefisherman 10-23-2007, 12:49 AM Hawaiian shafts for my No Ka Oi. I currently have a few 65" x 5/16. Please let me know your opinion. I own a Riffe Metaltech 4 (enclosed track) which is the same configuration as your No Ka Oi. I shoot Hawaiian shafts - a 9/32"x 63-65" freeshaft with two bands or a 5/16" x 65" lineshaft with three bands - equally well within 15'. Outside of that, the freeshaft (of course) shoots better, but the lineshaft holds its own with the other name guns that I own in that class. I don't see why your No Ka Oi should be any different. Choke Fish 10-23-2007, 01:57 AM Breathless shoots a 130cm Rob Allen which is a big gun too. Well actually I shoot 140cm, w/e helps give me an advantage. Big boys use big guns.
