Does anyone have one of the new Euro Series guns? IF you have one do you find a great deal of improvement in the water with it?

I had a 110 and liked it but got used to shooting my mad handles and the euro felt weird any time I used it. I wouldn't say I felt an improvement but that would depend on what your stepping up from. In your case I doubt it would be a noticeable improvement over what your shooting now.
I was going to place an order with Riffe and was going to get a few, I know that a couple of competitors are on the list, and maybe a few MetalTechs, but I was going to throw in a Euro Style too.

It's a really nice gun and a much better gun than the metal tech or larger wood mid-handles they offer IMHO.

Absolutely love my 110. Stepped up from a 54 Biller.
Got the chance to shoot it again last Friday as a matter of fact. Cleaned house on the mangroves. That gun is a laserbeam.

how does the euro series compare to the competitor or standard series?

The competitor series, which is closer to the euro as far as stock thickness, will take a 5/16 shaft.

I'm mostly hitting the reefs here in Japan and have been shooting both a euro 110 and a Comp 3x lately and find the euro a bit more comfortable in the water - doesn't require as much "wrist" as my comp 3x.
Some find the euro without the new extended butt to be difficult to load - I don't, especially with a shark fin shaft. Both seem to be equally accurate and have about the same range. I'm also a fan of both grips, but something about the euro is really cool...grip, aim, not sure, but it's very good.
If I had to choose only one today, it would be the euro.
Did you see the article in HSD spearfishing testing various euros? Riffe came out looking pretty good..

My son has a 90 cm (or 100 depending from where you measure) and he loves it, tracks well, is quiet and like Jlittle44 said-"Its a Laserbeam",
then again, The gun is only as good as the shooter:D

The Euro will take a 5/16 shaft also and you don't have to deal with muzzle ride and over power issues as much.
I just dont like how far back the handle is on the euro, other than that I like the gun.

Have you seen the Riffe Euro X? It has a butt extension so the handle isnt as far back.

Have you seen the Riffe Euro X? It has a butt extension so the handle isnt as far back. The handle is in the same place. The extension changes the position of the loading pad, not the handle.

Yes, but the handle isnt at the very back of the gun. There is wood behind the handle.

Thanks Captain Obvious...That is why I said that I didn't like it.

Are you sure you said you didn't like it or did you say you didn't now how far back the handle was? It's a Euro, the handle is all the way in the back. The Euro x has a butt extension for the girly men that can't chest load a set of 28Inch bands. :moon:

FYI, I was at Ken Jones shop(Deathstick) this morning and he is designing and testing a new euro teak Deathstick with a fully enclosed track. It looks like it will track a little faster due to the lower profile. No magnetic muzzle needed because of the fully enclosed track. You can ask Ken about the details at ken.jones31@verizon.net .

I've spent the last couple of days at the DEMA show in Orlando.
My arm hurts from Jay Riffe dragging me back and forth in his booth showing me his wares. He's still genuine enthused about what he builds!
Leave me alone Jay, I just came in to talk to your daughters!
I ordered myself a new Euro gun with the extended butt for hip cocking.
I'm hoping the shaft magnet gimmick works in real use like it does in a demo.
I expect to use one 11/16 band, but Jay did tell me I can use a 3/4 band on the gun and the muzzle will accept the bigger diameter band.

Really interested in hearing from someone using the new Euro series...looking at the 110 Euro X....like the feel of it in the shop but underwater who knows....spoke with Julie Riffe on this gun and you can order it with a 9/32 or 5/16 shaft with 6mil thread...any opinions on shaft size pros and cons?
Looking for a good everyday snapper gun that will also stone a 40-50 lb grouper if needed.
thanks,
elvis

4- 5 dives a day & i like how easy the x is to load, & my wife likes it also! the 100 & 110 seem very accurate & quiet! I use 2 wraps, the larger finns & the thicker shafts, after couple of bent ones. It seems to kill what i shoot at, i gues its the accurace thing ya know.
