As you all know by now the weather this weekend was terrible, as was the previous weekend too, so we held the Get-Together and Raffle portions of the Tournament today. FYI, the Competition part of the Tournament is in the process of being rescheduled, hopefully within the next two weeks.

I would preferred to have held the tourney on the initially planned date of Oct 20th but the weather has not been providing a safe ocean to play in. This week the weather looked pretty good most of the week then took a sharp nose dive the last few days. I had to make a decision to hold the tournament or to post pone it. After much deliberation, I decided that a compromise was best and proceeded with holding the Get-Together and Raffle today, and rescheduling the trophies and grand prizes for a later date.

For all of you out there who couldn't make it today, I am truely sorry. I wish you all could have been there. We all missed you.
For all of you who could have made it but decided not to come, I wish you would have come. We did have a great time.
I have about 60 pictures of the event and once I get them resized I will post them up here.
For me it was a great experience getting to meet so many of you in person, and I am continually amazed by the character of the people who share this interest of spearfishing. You are hands down the coolest people on Okinawa. I sincerely thank you for coming and making the event so awesome.



Next, I need someone to step up to the plate and finish off the competition part of this event. For the next 2 weeks I have to work the weekends, and the 3rd week me and a number of others are headed to Yoron Island. I need for someone to take control and run the competition within the next two weekends. We still have 6 trophies and the grand prize packages from Jim at TheSpearfishingStore.com to give to the first place winners from each category. The shirts are done, the raffle is done, and everything has been paid for. The competition is the easy part.
Is anyone here willing to run the final stage of this tournament?

What about Sunday the 11th or cancelling that Yoron trip and doing it on the 17th. Anything after November is going to be bad for anybody. I'm willing to make sacrifices to get a shot at that first prize or second.

How about Thanksgiving morning, November 22? Everyone should be off work this day and we would all be done in time for dinner.

Let's just stay with the 24th, unless more than 5 can't make it...we will never be able to accommodate everyone. That is 2 days after Thanksgiving, so we can work off the calories, and it give most people time to adjust their schedule to make it. I'm off to Tokyo for the tournament in the morning. cyas when I get back.
