FREEK 10-30-2007, 12:44 AM That's Micheal Rutzen, he was on Sharkweek, I think his episode was called "Sharkman".
KEYSKILLER 10-30-2007, 12:51 AM worse case use the second one i put up

settingsteel 10-30-2007, 01:26 AM NO FEAR:chuck:
Speareasy 10-30-2007, 02:36 AM Now that proves it, GW are really misunderstood. Once you get in touch with the inner shark they are really very friendly.
Cherokee Spear 10-30-2007, 09:07 AM Now that proves it, GW are really misunderstood. Once you get in touch with the inner shark they are really very friendly.
Until they're hungry... And then they give you a chance to get in touch with their "inner shark".
Gixxer 10-30-2007, 06:25 PM I was actually thinking one of those beco 50cal powerheads for protection. See, I knew those had a purpose. Even if I had nuts of steel my wife would flip out like I cheated on her if she saw a video of me doing that. she would have to find the video cause she would never in a million years knowingly let me get in the water with one of those. Definately nuts of steel.
seen the vid on discovery channel was pretty sick he practiced tetonics or something on them. He practiced on like a 15ft tigershark first before he did this lol.
Teh Wicked 11-01-2007, 05:14 PM SCA-REW THAT! That thing could inflict some serious damage real quick and in a hurry. I would never trust a wild animal like that...
hog hunter 12 11-09-2007, 09:12 PM gurantee he probly shit himself
threw-er-back 11-10-2007, 10:31 AM I saw this on shark week too.. I pooped just now like I did then...really amazing
inletsurf 11-10-2007, 03:16 PM Crazy!
Ghambit 11-10-2007, 07:45 PM All the sharks he works with are well fed before he enters the water. In any kind of natural feeding situation he'd be dead. :nono:
Still ballsy mind you, but there is some "common sense" involved as well.
FishinDave07 11-29-2007, 07:24 PM Definately :chuck:
Ron S. 12-01-2007, 12:58 PM Well it's also good to see that a stock euro gun is adequate protection against a full grown GWS, even when the gun is unloaded...
Guy's whacked. It'd be a major rush though.
Ron.
tomol 12-01-2007, 02:38 PM Well it's also good to see that a stock euro gun is adequate protection against a full grown GWS, even when the gun is unloaded...
I'm not so sure. I remember seeing some of Andre Hartman's footage a few years ago in which he pushed a big one away as it swam by. It was only passing by but was apparently too close. The shark took the point in the head. The shaft had a significant bend from the load on it. The shark didn't flinch, it just kept going like nothing was happening.
Of course it's a moot point. You know what they say. If he wants you, you'll feel him before you see him.
On the other hand, the only first hand experience I've had with a GWS was a small one less than 10 feet long. He came straight at me as I headed or the surface. Fortunately, I was ready, and he ran headlong into my Alexander slip tip. He wasn't expecting that, and he took off like he was shot out of a cannon. It was gratifying that I spooked him but a little unnerving to see an animal of that size and girth demonstrate such athleticism.
I got out of the water. :)
Gixxer 12-02-2007, 08:20 PM I probably would have gotten sick to my stomach after that sort of encounter tomol. Yes, get out of the water.
I would need a new wetsuit, I guarantee I would have shit everything I had.
chasintail 12-03-2007, 09:57 PM Makes me shudder everytime I seen that show.Gives me chill bumps to think about it.
Gamble 12-03-2007, 10:06 PM I think it would be a blast!!!! Once you see them in the water they are relatively predictable. It's the ones behind and below you that could be a problem.
Skinydiver 12-03-2007, 10:23 PM Awesome video, and probably even better music. I love this vid. That dude definitely has a set of brass balls.
Gunny 12-27-2007, 10:20 AM One day you will read about him again!
Relapse 12-27-2007, 11:15 AM yeah, when he shit over a ledge by one of those things. (Ref:"ate by a wolf and shit off a bluff")
