Hi folks,
I have a Ray Odor shaft for my Riffe gun and during my last outing I shot my limit of rocks, so my spearshaft took a good beating. When I got home I sharpened the tip, and used some real fine sandpaper to take some burrs off the first inch of shaft as well. Now I noticed that there are some small burrs on the rest of the shaft as well, which can't be too good for the wood track of the gun. So my question is, if I smooth/polish the entire shaft, which would take off the brown coating, will the shaft rust out faster? It appears to be stainless steel, so I'm not sure.
Thanks,
Ron.
