I just got a letter from my congressman Cliff Sterns looking for a campaign donation for his re-election campaign. I believe all districts are coming up for re-election. If congress mandated and created the Gulf Council committee than we need to pressure our congress representives to hear us. The best way is to petition them, email them, call them and donate or do not donate based on thier stance on the issue.
If people in thier districts stand to lose thier business or be out of work I think they would be inclined to listen.

Just a thought.

Please share yours on this.

Attached is the break down of the districts (Fla) and who represents those districts.

If one point of contact was designated (D. O'Hearn), would they all be able to ignore him if all our votes were "controlled" by Denny (metaphorically speaking)?

The unions have used this tactic for 100 years. Could we not orchestrate the same function?

One thing I've heard is to make a donation to your local candidate- it can be small ($10), but it puts your name on the list for them to pay (more) attention to you.

Denny,
Please give us some BASIC language to be placed at the top of a petition and acceptable format used.. I would reccomend you drafting one up brother so we ALL USE THE SAME TYPE.
I know you have all the time in the world and are doing absolutely nothing

FYI I have had several concerned people ask if there is a petition drive...What about GRASSFIRE???
Thanks...

If you live in the following counties Escambia,Santa Rosa,Pensacola,Walton,Okaloosa,Washington or Holmes.
Jim Miller is your congressnan. His email address is below. Write him an email about the proposed gulf regulations. The more we write the more we will be heard. Election time is almost here and they like thier jobs.

It would be helpful to Identify the author of this document. I see the references but who put it together?

The mysterious PhD author(s) of this paper/study seems to want to remain anonymous, just like the Islands in the Stream propagandants. A taste of thier own medicine, although Im sure it was for different reasons.
I believe that the Islands folks know they are going way, way, way above and beyond what is truly justified and none of them wants their reputation to go down with the ship once the public finds out what they are trying to pull off here. It is my hope that they get what they deserve when this thing comes crashing down. Involvement with such a sinister plan should become a permanent blemish on thier records as objective scientists and not be forgotten the next time they try to push thier personal agenda or close (YES, CLOSE) thier personal favorite dive spot or study area.
Seems that many behind the scenes are starting to defect.

Stay tuned for more public outrage on the Stream fiasco...

Monty do you think that a petition would be the best tool? If so There are a ton of fishermen walking around UF that I'm sure would sign it. If this is something you want to do I would be glad to help out, I'm sure I'm good for a few hundred signatures.

I am not so sure petitions are that great, as people will sign anything, look at this video, keep in mind these are College Kids.

I think they were high schoolers, not much better,

but my point was that a whole bunch of people would probably sign something saying that they are concerned with our fishing rights being taken away, but very few people that I talk to on campus have any idea, about the proposed regs, these are guys that claim to be avid fishermen in there home town.

Honestly if I did not read SFP I would have no idea this was happening ether.
