Anyone have info on a good, relatively cheap place to stay on Grand Cayman?

What about must do shore dives? Will be there in April for freediving and some SCUBA dives.

ANy info is greatly appreciated.

I have been there many times, usually book on hotwire and generally end up at Sunshine Suites (Wyndham) and its basically across the street from 7 mile beach, very reasonable and nice hotels (the painkillers at the bar are friggin awesome!).
I usually rent a small car or a scooter and just rent my dive gear down there.

If you go down town just past where the cruise ships dock there is Eden Rock which is a great little shore dive with lots to look at, about 200 yards from down town. there are lots of shore dives all around the island that you can feel out as you go but that is a nice one. No spearing unless you were born there....

There is also some nice snorkeling right off 7 mile beach, head to the north end and park by the cemetery, there is a little pathway by the cemetery that leads to the beach, nice reef with tonnes of mutton, grouper and bugs to taunt you..

Oh yeah, when you check the prices online, look for the package deals, I found I saved a couple hundred with hotwire and orbitz I think doing the package air/hotel and the best deal always seemed to be Sunshine Suities
