Good looking Gun. Looks like a rear handle pluss of some kind, could be a custom like a wong.

I'd be tempted to say a Wong w/ the Alexander handle.

Nice gun, Is it an enclosed track?

It looks like it has a Riffe Shaft based on the fins and the hole location.
The line release also looks like Riffe.
The rubber/plastic butt looks like Riffe as well but it's black which Riffe makes them in Red.
The loop in the front where the bungee connects to also appears to be Riffe.
Very nice looking Gun.

It looks like a custom: Riffe shaft, Alexander trigger mechanism and handle, Alexander-style trigger slide, Riffe stock dimensions and lamination scheme (horizontal), Wong-style pushrod retainer, Neptonics looking line anchor, Wong looking butt. Also, the handle is not inset into the stock - something that would be done had it come from a manufacturer. Even so, the gun should shoot and handle really nice. Don't overpower it though, there isn't a lot of mass there and recoil could detract from its accuracy.

My guess is Yokooji. If it is, there should be some sort of triad symbol on the gun. It might be an early Wong or someone simply made it, based on a Yokooji/Wong design.

Looks like a Yokooji sold through HSD under their gear line. I used to have one a few years ago. His HSD guns don't have the symbol on them. Good gun.

Looks like the handle base plate is the same width as the stock so it may not look perfect. Considering the trigger slide would it be reasonable to do at this point?

You could recess the handle, but you would have to deepen the track for the trigger slide, and the end result would only be cosmetic anyway (no performance gain). I've done recessed Alexander handles, and in my opinion, it would be more work than it's worth, especially considering the gun looks good as is.

IMO bringing the handle as close as possible to the plain of travel of the spear is the ideal, every centimeter counts. It is a very clean looking gun, looks like it didn't get much use or was refinished.

I saw the gun the other day and its a nice setup. The track while not enclosed is pretty deep, much more than a riffe.

Good meeting you...

The track is not enclosed like Ppete said. The total shaft length is about 57''. It does have a little symbol on the side its a skull with a mask and snorkel with crossbones below, is that the symbol you speak of? The gun wasn't refinished to my knowledge, the gun wasn't used, a buddy of mine won it at a fishing tourtament raffle and doesn't dive :toast:
