Tony used that as an excuse, he even tried blaming it on one Spearboard member.

Tony is a "grogan" look it up in www.urbandictionary.com, he used the bad health of his mom when I posted the defintion of Grogan on the baord as an excuse to kick me off, then he used the death of JLB as an excuse to take down inlets graph of his dive, the guy is a douche bag.

Here is a PM he sent me, when he tried to use JLB's death as cover for his sorry ass, and below was my last post on SB as I am now kicked off.

Well, Bret, as you know, I dive with just about as many TSB guys as SPUC guys. IMHO, and any member of TSB can tell me I am full of shit, but he is taking you guys for a ride. He makes money on that tournament (no question about that) and you guys get what? A waived entry fee? He drags TSB into arguments that he is losing, in an attempt to turn it into a intraclub battle, rather than what it really is, is a battle between Spearos and the way he runs his board.

You guys setup a tournament for next year, and I will send in my entry fee TODAY. I will never shoot the SBO again. (and the shitty part for me is that I was one of the five or six guys that started the SBO)

This forum has a lot more features and content coming. We do not feel a need to compete with SB or Tony. SB has done wonderful things for the community and I have made lots of new friends because of it. I have never had a cross word with Tony and pm him on occasion with questions. We are only offering a positive alternative for the people that truly love this sport and are prepared to do what is right to protect it and help it grow. In the user control panel, you can switch the order to oldest first, then you will read it from top to bottom.

Before I switched it, it was very confusing.

To be honest with you, John, I am trying to take a "wait and see" attitude with the whole thing. We have already "paid" for a years worth of advertising, so it would be stupid to not use it. As far as what we will do next year, I don't know. The advertising isn't really directed at you guys anyway...you already know hwo we are, what we make, etc. If you want to use our gear, you will. There people on this board and Spearboard who have been participating, organizing, and leading the Florida Skin Diver’s Association, West Coast Council tournaments, the St. Pete Open and the Southern Open for OVER 20 years. Some of these people are still CRUSHING the fish on a weekly basis and are still on top of their game with respect to competing in tournaments. Without their knowledge, skills, and leadership there wouldn’t even be a Spearboard and that’s a fact. These are the same people that Tony has chosen to alienate and censor on his board. Can he answer why? I wonder how the “silent majority” would feel if they knew that?

Apparently one of Tony's new boys is jfjf - who is stating that he thinks everyone that left SB left voluntarily. I guess he doesn't realize that most of us woke up this morning with our permissions gone.

It's starting here the exact same way things started on Spearboard 5 years ago. We spent the first 2 weeks or so b*tching about FSEric, Genesis, and all of the various jackasses on FS. It eventually got old and we moved on to talk about better things.

Until then - I'd like to think that SB will die without the folks that Tony deemed unworthy and banned, but the simple fact is it's not going anywhere. It's been around too long and has way too many members who have never met Tony, haven't been subject to his f*cked up ways, and don't give a sh*t about any of it.

BTW, I am holding the Spear Max name if Tony wants to be involved. We have not banned any names, addresses, or users. Anyone with a love for the sport is welcome. I have not even checked to see if my user id is still active on SB, but I have not bashed Tony or SB and never had mod rights anyway. Good luck guys, this place will be what we make it. I hope to see more cohesion between clubs and shooters and less BS. Let's begin a new bikini thread asap and get some new recipes up and running. Welcome to day 2.

In the user control panel, you can switch the order to oldest first, then you will read it from top to bottom.

Just for the record, I have not bashed Tony or SB and I am locked out of SB too. I guess he does not support those that support diver's rights and bringing the clubs back together. I'm not interested in participating in a forum that does not support me and the protection of my sport.

Maybe there is something I don't see from my vantage point, but I don't understand these "partial bans," the removing of functions such as starting threads, using PMs, etc.

If you should be banned, then you should be completely banned. Otherwise, its just silly to let you be there posting in a thread started by someone else.

. . . that and you don't know the parameters of your cage until you try to explore it. My permissions tend to change for the better and worse by the hour. I've never received any written or oral notification of my suspension or any rational explanation of his justification for it. I did a post explaining the completely unfair manner in which I've been treated, and despite the urging of other members Tony is unable and/or unwilling to respond in an adult manner. He is really being pretty childish in the way he is treating me and the others who have made his site what it was. Nobody here wants to see Spearboard go down the drain - it was our creation. It is like watching your child getting beaten by an abusive spouse. :mad:

I would like the entire community to know that like Kitefisherman my priveleges and acces to spearboard have also been eliminated except as an observer.
One small difference is I have never been a moderator.

I challenge anyone to look up my past posts and see what kind of troublemaker and source of disruption I have been to spearboard and the spearfishing community.:rolleyes:

Perhaps many new members do not know that I was the single diver/spearfisherman appointed to the South East Data Assesment and Review panel to represent ALL diver in the South East United States for Hogfish and Goliath Grouper.
This appointment was approved by both the Gulf and Atlantic Councils.
I'm one of the handfull of guys who are the reason you can still harvest hogfish.
I recieved this appointment through the efforts of hundreds of Spearboard members who "vouched" for my character.

All those people must have been wrong as well who made me the 2006 recipient of the Norm Wyman/Poppa Taylor award by the Florida Skin divers Association?
This award is presented to the individual who has done the most to promote spearfishing, defend spearfishing and/ or protect the rights of divers and spearfisherman.

Perhaps I'm being punished for all the work I have done for the spearfishing community by attending countless Gulf Council meetings, FWC meetings, SEDAR meetings, Advisory panel meetings,FFWRI meetings and Scoping meetings on behalf of Spearfisherman and the Spearfishing community?

Maybe its because I have been a Member of the St. Petersburg Underwater club for 13 years and served as the Secretary, Vice President and President of that Organization?

Maybe its because I helped form the FRA which protects, promotes and defends the rights of Spearfisherman around Florida, The SouthEast and even around the Country?

Or, maybe its because of my service on the Florida Skin Divers Association as an officer and former vice-president?

Did I mention that I have NEVER, EVER recieved one single dime of compensation for any of this?

No, It appears (to me) that my crime is caring enough about the community to try and convince the owner of Spearboard that certain actions of his are reckless and without merit.

I will certainly concede that Spearbord needed some cleaning up and perhaps some individual/s had indeed crossed the line.
But, Is this type of blanket censorship really necessary and wanted by the community?
I find it very difficult to believe it is...
Perhaps my crime is that I know some of the individuals in question?
Unfortunately... I have never been contacted or told what exactly my "crime" is.

I have a feeling this wil be spun and since I can not respond you all will have to make up your own minds as to what is really "going on".

It is unfortunate that you and John H. got lumped in with the rest of the "bad apples" as you both have been very fair and reasonable with tony, yet he doesn't mind sh..ting on you guys or anyone else when it suits him.

We are all better off without him or his bs.

I'm not real sure how I was a bad apple, However I've had posts that have nothing to do with all the drama deleted and posts left up but very altered to fit the lies and BS.

I was personally attacked (via Keyboard:rolleyes:) by the owner and he obviously lied and was called out on it and then the system crashed due to a member. :rolleyes: No specifics, Tony really wants specifics all the time but never wants to give them or be held to any standard unless he sets it. :rolleyes:

The deal is Spearboard has turned into a money making scheme, if you dont comply you get booted, who cares. I'll spend my money at the tourneys and business's that support the real divers of this and any other legitimate forum.

I have met a ton of cool people through spearboard but I wont dive anymore or less depending on my ability to use it. Spearboard needs members the members dont need Spearboard when the owner gets that he'll be better off.

My advise to him: If you start a war, with nothing more than popcorn farts dont be surprised when you get bombs dropped on you. You were warned, and choose to ignore good advise. :confused:

I'm VERY curious to hear what the SB Sponsors think of what is going on at SB??
I know some of them personnaly and would be shocked if they think that SB is moving in the right direction.

Truth be told, myself and probably most of the other mods saw the writing on the wall and knew that our tenure as mods was due to end. Not unexpected at all. When nearly all of the managers disagree with the boss again and again and again - something's gotta give. I expected to wake up one day to a PM stating a shake-up in mods due to 'creative differences' or some BS like that. To just outright ban people whose, for the most part, worst offense was disagreeing with management - with no advance notice, no warning, nothing - was absurd. In our time as mods, we handed down very few suspensions, and never without a lot of discussion beforehand.
Now Tony's handing them out like candy, mostly to people that didn't do a a damn thing wrong or even come remotely close to violating his ROE.

Ah well. What can ya do. The emergence and rapid growth of this site is very encouraging and pretty clearly shows that Tony and Spearboard, like most things, are very replaceable.

I have moved on and can certainly live without SB in my life.

I have nothing against anyone who wishes to sponsor SB. That is certainly their right as a business owner.
I personnaly know many SB sponsors and consider them my friends. I have great respect for them and their products.
Many of these product I use and will continue to use and recommend.

I hope that any manufacturers who were offended by my post accept my sincere appology.
