Anyone have any feedback positive or negative about the Cochran Commander computer? I've been looking for a secondary computer to dive with since I'm starting dive the grounds more and a buddy has one for sale but I want to get some other opinions from people who have or had one. Any info helps.

I pretty sure it is capable of 2 gas but only has the one gas programed into it right now.

Thanks NSEARCH I'll still have to get those from you at the next meeting or something to try but I was going out and needed some to put on the gun so I broke down and bought the ones from the shop. I'd still like to try yours too!

im pretty sure they can reprogram a commander to 2 f02 if needed, i have an emc-16 its just a newer commander, i can do 2 gases but only dive 1, its a agressive computer, or at least compared to my old aeris, i dive mine at 10% conservitism, but for the type of diving i do i love it

ps i generally do shorter dives staying out of deco, or usually under 10minutes more like 3 minutes or so, but i have dove it pretty deep and done repetive dives on it and havent had a problem, but i do know of 2 people having taken a hit on one

It's a good computer. It is natively not too conservative. That's one of things I enjoy. I was unhappy with the 2 gas functionality though. You don't have the opportunity to switch over to your 2nd gas when you want to. Before you dive, you have to program the depth at which it switches over when ascending, and the mininum time spent below this depth before it will allow the switch upon ascending. Other than that, it appears to be a well built computer with easily changable cheap batteries.
