“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

Marcus, is this the kind of editorial you read while on break?

I normally try not to read all the junk that you haters of all things not "Left," but gave this one a quick read. Seems a little hateful and biased, doesn't it?

Yikes.

Chris,

I'm not left or right...just a true patriot. This wasn't a biased editorial, just factual reporting.

Here's another "Bush Says"

After the Pope's speech yesterday, the microphones picked up Bush saying "Awesome speech, your Holiness".

Letterman said last night that he didn't say "Dude" because it was a formal affair.

Funny that the same people that say burning the flag is ok would take big offense to someone making such a comment about the constitution.

Now, is it possible that comment was taken out of context?

For example, I would think in light of the terror threats that are real, someone might say that the Constitution is just a piece of paper and is outdated (Words spoken by several academics that are PhD's, by the way).

There, I said it. I won't be checking back. If you want to argue politics, get in you're gas guzzling SUV and come down here, Marcus. We'll get in my gas guzzling truck and pull my gas guzzling boat down to the landing and go diving. We'll argue over some diving and a beer or 5.

I know you're not talking about me. I've never said such.

The article gave the exact context it was given in. Did you read it?

So you believe the terror threats are real? I don't. I believe GW let it happen so that he would have an excuse for his war mongering. There is lots of evidence for this. I believe this will come to light in time. I don't believe the Constitution is outdated either. If new technology brings circumstances that isn't covered in the constitution, there is a process by which the constitution can be amended. GW ran roughshod over that process and broke laws to get his way...and I quote “I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”

Another inference that I'm a left leaning Al Gore lover or something...WTF Chris? I don't care how much gas people burn. I don't believe in global warming and I also don't believe that we should attack other countries for thier oil.

The constitution was written to make sure the shit that's happening today wouldn't happen. The problem is the constitution isn't being followed. That is what needs to be fixed. Bush should be impeached for the shit he's pulled. The system is F'd up and most people are too ignorant to realize it.

After further investigating. His words can't be corraborated due to the reporter not wanting to disclose his inside source at the White House. The author doesn't appear to be partisan as he's written non-flattering things about Clinton while he was in office too.
On that note, I believe GW would say something like that though, as evident by his actions while in office.
