Figured I'd christen this bitch.
Going out to Duck on the Outer Banks for all of next week and bringing the boat, trolling and diving gear.
Anyone in the area let me know and we'll see about hooking up out of Oregon Inlet for a day's worth.
I've not dove up here in Carolina yet, but looking forward to some good hunting.

Doug, if you are going anywhere near Hatteras, PM me. I know where we can get lots of awesome wreck numbers.

I will be a little further north than that John. But if your guy has any areas to check out of Oregon Inlet that would be a huge help. I've got a substantial list of wrecks and rocks that are pretty readily available up here.
What I really need is a dive shop in the area. Anyone?

My best friend lives in Manteo and fishes/dives out of there plenty. Don't leave w/o shooting a huge striper on the bridge. His name is Jed Dixon and his number is (252) 305-1412. He is an awesome guy and will definitely tell you the dealio on the diving and fishing. My name is Blake.
I heard the York had some big AJ's out of OI and the towers always have AJ's and sometimes pelagics when the wind has been right for a few days. I just got back from Hatteras and the Proteus had plenty of wahoo.
I will call him and tell him I gave out his number.

My uncle has a couple beach houses on Kill Devil Hills, just south of you. Never dove out of there, but Oregon Inlet is awesome.

Man, just sitting on the beach drinking beers. It's been a nasty overhead shore break the last two days. Offshore is looking pretty nasty...

The Oregon Inlet bridge is calling you. I shot a 35 lb striper there this time last year.

Diving at the inlet bridge? Tell me about it? A friend of mine has a beach house near there, but the currents look scary.

Yeah, be careful at the bridge - it RIPS there when the tide is in full swing. However, there are some nice fish there. Biggest thing is trying to find decent visibility - I would say that 95% of the time it is unshootable.

I checked the bridge out, but no vis. Striper is closed from what I've been told.

Everytime I am in the OBX the vis sucks, or the waves are just crashing in. I checked out the bridge but the current there is a bit more than scary, more like nightmare. Here is a pic of me after trying to get through the surf with no luck. I was exhausted.
