Myself, GR, Chris Gardinal and Wayne Butts decided to do a half day of freediving today just south of the ditch. We started in 85ft on a wreck and you could make out the wreck from the surface. There was tons of bait and some small jacks but no shooters. We picked up a few mango's and a permit. I lost two really big permit due to the insane number of jewfish on the wreck. The first one spit my shaft out but the other just destroyed the permit and broke my shaft off in the wreck.
We then went into 45ft and the water didn't look that great until you got in and you could easily make out the ledge from the surface. There were tons of small grouper along with a bunch of other species. We shot a few grouper, decent mango's and hogs along with some really nice triggers.
We then hit one more spot in 40ft and the water got a little dirty with it hard to see the dark spot. Shot a couple more fish and then headed in. The water in 35ft and in looked like crap but it was really surprising to see how good the viz was after all the rain we've had this week.

Sorry no pics, nothing worthy. But some fresh fish for the cooker tonight.

Sounds like a good day. We hit that shallow stuff for scallops and got jumped by that damn 12ft hammer again. I think my uncle shat him self. No Gags but loaded up on scallops.

Yep - I have 13yr. olds with scallops in one hand, and flounders hanging off of pole spears in the other - let's hear the hammerhead story!

No real story guys, and sorry to derail your post Bucket. Same rock as I saw him last time, 9ft of water. He circled my uncle 3-4 times and swam off as my uncle rushed back to the boat freaked.
