The boat is in the shop for some minor repairs and service. I am off to visit my parents and sisters 750 miles away for a few days. This will be a 12 hours trip one way hard driving with 2 kids 5 and 10 years old. My wife is glad to get rid of us for a few days I am sure. Could be a week? Naa! It has been said that relatives and fish are great but after about three days the smell begins to grow on you. By the third day you have learn who all died and Mom will begin to repeat herself. Dad has been retired now for years and just purchased a new Camry for Mom and a brand new Tundra four door for himself. You know what his top subject is going to be. You guessed it the purchase deal is sure to be repeated countless times don’t ya know. My kids are sure to be ruin for payback purposes and told stories about when their Dad was their age stuff. Worst yet the parents have no computer, not even dialup. I will be in withdrawals and it can only be solved by rushing back home ASAP to see if the boat is ready. I don’t think I can call the boat shop from a crank phone. Oh the pain, I will be the Mom and Dad and mediator Son for the next several days.

This trip was planned by my wife to get rid of us and notice she is not going on this trip she has to work on getting ready for the new school year. Yea right she knows this is no Disney trip and she was good to go to the aquarium in Atlanta last week. Smart women can get the better of you every time.

On the lighter note my mother is going to love the lobster and all the fish that I will take to her. This could keep me in their will. Of course Dad just spent $60,000ish of the inheritance on what I am sure is the greatest auto deal EVER. O’ well you have got to love your parents no matter how they act in their second child hood. My sisters are another dysfunctional story. Feel the pain…I am sure some of you can relate to enduring the parents.

Wish me luck. I probably will need it.:corkysm60:

Look at the bright side..... at least you are not visiting the in-laws:smthumbup: If you get back and your boat is not done, I may be able to ease your pain, give me a call. But really man, enjoy your parents every minute you have them around!!!

Thanks Grant,

You know me, I am just kidding around making light of everything. I am sure to have a good time and I will enjoy the family time.

Funny thing is my in-laws live here in town and I love them to the infonaut power. They are so good to me, probably because I have put up with their daughter for over 20 years now. :D
