Aquatic Safaris is this weekend Jun 7-8: http://www.aquaticsafaris.com/SPTOURN1.html

Discovery Diving is next. June 14-15.

I'm planning on hitting the discovery diving tournament, though I have a feeling that it is going to be kind of disappointing. Nothing on their website about it- I've talked to them and it is only a $20 entry fee, but as of today, no one had entered.

From an undated past web page (I don't think anything has changed)

Winners will be chosen by the largest fish in the following categories: Sheepshead, Grouper, Flounder, Black Sea Bass, Cobia and Miscellaneous Edible Fish (excluding Sharks, Rays and Amber Jack). Additionally, a Total Poundage Prize will be awarded by determining one fish from each category to get the total weight for each person.

Anyone else? Good chance of scoring glass to put on your commercial spearfishing application...

"Miscellaneous Edible Fish" leaves a lot of room for intrepretation. After an unsuccesful all night shark hunt, I once gave a luke warm bonita with multiple hook holes in it to a guy who may or may not have been named Lootie. I have a high level of confidence that it was served up as the main course for dinner that night. Someone call Teh Wicked, as the sole entry, he's sure to score some glass to go with that T-shirt he's so fond of.

I know- I guess it covers triggerfish, snapper, hogfish, etc. A big category. The tourney seems skewed to inshore fish- Black Sea Bass as a category?

Okay, here are the official rules for Discovery's Tourney. Sounds like there are a few entrants now. If Team Teh Wicked doesn't enter, I might get a shot at glass!
