View Full Version : Congratulations Bottom Dweller!
richt 06-08-2008, 12:01 AM Big congratulations to Bottom Dweller (Scott) for winning diver of the day at todays tournament!
Scott did a great job against a tough field to finally take home some glass.
Also thanks to the Florida Freeshafters for a great spread of food as well as the volunteers and organizers for a well run event!:toast:
Marcus 06-08-2008, 12:15 AM Friggin' Sweeet, Scott! You deserve it. Congrats!

Keith8h 06-08-2008, 07:13 AM well done Scott.
Thanks also to Chuck and Brian for a well run tourney, Armando for the great suggestion for the grub, and to Sean's wife (Colleen I think?) for making the food delivery.
Congradulations Scott-well done
jeepshapes 06-08-2008, 09:52 AM congrats scott. did emo weigh in again?
stevemc1 06-08-2008, 10:27 AM I dont think emo dove this one. I did see one of his cobia, and it was even nicer than his first one! I didnt get to see Scott's fish. Were they in Armando's cooler? He had a bunch of nice fish too. I couldnt stay for the final glass give out, as Lynn had to work in Sarasota at 10 PM, and didnt do any visiting to speak of. Next time. Nice work Scott! We all had a good time too. Great job!
BigWill 06-08-2008, 10:33 AM Congrats Scott, nice job man....
Bottom Dweller 06-08-2008, 11:05 AM Thanks everyone, diver of the day was certainly a surprise. Thanks to Chuck, Brian, and Bill for all their help making everything run smoothly. Thanks to Colleen for picking up the food and to Rob for picking up the breakfast.
Dive4Blood 06-08-2008, 12:22 PM Hey Scott good thing you had a boat full of "captains" convincing you to go where we went so you could revel in the glory of glass ;).
Thanks again to Sean's (Wonderboy) wife Colleen for picking up the Hungry Harry's BBQ, to Rob (The Wiseman) for picking up the morning baked goods, and to Ben and Scott for manning up to do the weigh-in slime slinging. Chuck Schnur and Bill Hardman also get mad props for taking care of the data entry on behalf of the FSDA. If you are ever in the Lutz/Land O' Lakes area check out Hungry Harry's (www.hungryharrysfamousbbq.com). Next to First Choice in Brandon I think they make the best BBQ in the Tampa Bay area. They also have a location in Seffner.
At the weigh-in Big Will and I started rapping in Spanish to some rough around the edges Hispanic looking types who were greedily eyeing the fish as they came out of the coolers. They didn't respond back looking at us like we had two heads, and we subsequently found out that they couldn't understand a word we were saying because they were all Hungarians. Will gave them a barracuda, and the flood gates opened. Feed one seagull and what do you think happens? Soon they was a crowd of shirtless, homemade tattooed Eastern Europeans snapping up every cuda and trigger tossed their way. Then they started pointing at the snapper and grouper and then to themselves. Sorry about you there buddddday :D!
Marcus 06-08-2008, 12:38 PM No shit...I was thinking of going to get my speargun to gaurd against them bum rushing us and taking all the fish. :D
I got real nervous when I seen this guy milling about.
Bucket One 06-08-2008, 02:31 PM Big congratulations to Bottom Dweller (Scott) for winning diver of the day at todays tournament!

dagodiver 06-08-2008, 02:36 PM Great job Scott.!
Dago.
chuckd 06-08-2008, 02:49 PM very well run tourney. My team and I had a blast. I shot my 1st cuda (which the angry Hungarian mob snarfed up quick after offering to buy my groupas). While letting the cuda play out, I hear this highpitched clicking...I look up to see a porpoise less than 10" from Miked. To his right in the stellar via at the surface I see 50 more of his budddies.
anyway, great day on the water. Congrats to all the winners. And I'd like to thank the FSDA and WCC for letting us compete. Excellent job guys.
Charlie:bounce:
stevemc1 06-08-2008, 03:19 PM I saw the fish haulers working the crowd, waiting for the divy on the hogfish. I did see one carrying a nice hog and grouper. Someone must have been very generous! I saw the first few, then the word spread and there were 25 of them. I felt like an auctioneer, trying to get rid of the marginaly large cuda. I am sure it dissappeared. We had a couple sharks circling yesterday, first a bull, I saw a remora circling me, and looked around for his master, and their he was circling Marcus who was fending off his mango from a huge nurse shark, a bull shark about 6' or so. Marcus never saw him. I didnt have a powerhead and just swam towards it to scare it, and gave Marcus the shark sign, then clipped my chum bag and fish to his stringer, and went down the ledge. Next Lynn and I dove a large ledge for a while, greening up the water real good, and I came up and the boat was a ways down, and I honked my Dive Alert and Lynn must have come up between me and the boat, as they picked her up first, and she is slow to get in. I saw a ghost circling me, about 15' down at the edge of my vision, and they were taking their time getting Lynn, so I honked again. I still saw it a few times. When I was swimming to the boat Chris said, I saw something on the surface behind you when we pulled up. I really didnt see what it was. I was hoping it was a cobia, not a shark. Good time was had by all.
jeepshapes 06-08-2008, 03:36 PM what were the weights for catagories and who got them.
chuckd 06-08-2008, 03:46 PM speaking of sharks, travis had 2 bulls or sand bars cruise up on him on a ledge and circled...he remembered he had a shark shield on, flipped it on, and he said they hauled ass as fast as he seen a shark swim...never came back to the ledge. Maybe they do work.

fishkilla 06-08-2008, 03:57 PM what a great day for wcc #2. it was all made possible by all who helped out. a huge thank you to my club members (and wives!) who handled food and drinks. chuck and bill thanks for your hard work. i appreciate the patience everyone had with my fish fumbling at the weigh table. (i figure if i dumped enough peoples fish in the dirt i wouldn't have to do it again.) armondo great job on placing the food order and colleen for getting it to the park. i dropped the ball on the $200 worth of prizes to give away but i figure 2 for 3 is pretty good for the Florida Freeshafters.
eric, rob and will thanks for the ride that was a good day of shootin. i look forward to the next dive trip.

Ben, as President you need to learn politics: Here is the Club statement:
"Although we placed our orders months ago, for some reason our suppliers were unable to deliver the $100 Gas Card & Custom Made E-Searider bag in time. I assure you those items will ship on Monday"
Thanks again to Brian, Chuck, & Bill for a great run event. Congrats to Scott & great job on the weigh-in.
But Collen & the food was my favorite :D :bounce:
