I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

Looks like they're using mono line, welded tabs, composite guns, nylon wishbones, open muzzles- all things from other makers.

Anyone know anything about it?

The true test will be the price compared to the other manufacturers and if they improved the trigger mechanism. If it costs the same or more, why wouldn't you just get the real McCoy?

JBL Elite??? Isn't this an oxymoron? :scratchhead:

Just because they marketed a lower cost gun to the masses doesn't mean they're incapable of producing a higher quality gun. It isn't rocket science.

You're right, it was wrong for me to make a joke about JBL. These guns do serve a purpose in our industry and the fact JBL is adding innovations into there tried and true design is indeed commendable!

All I suggest is that divers who are new to the sport of spearfishing do their research first before leaping toward the first brand they see on the wall of a dive shop. There are many gun choices available and depending on the circumstances perhaps a JBL is the right choice, ......and perhaps it is not.

:iagree: I think that's going to be the crux of it right there. If they can make it and sell it for ~$200-300, maybe using the XHD mech, then I think they will have a good thing going.
