I have twins, if you want to trade for some Kitchen or bath remodeling we could work something out otherwise I have to nurse my pair along until work picks up and I can repower.

Scott,

Between you and Weinhard, you guys ought to have enough running motors to get one boat running for WCC #3, so who should I ask for a ride?

thanks guys I got one went all through my motor and apear to have a chipped reed valve that couldn't be diagnosed by computer. these motors are fairly simple to work on once you get into it. I just can't afford parts from mercury

I am not sure how much Mercs reed plates are, but Boyenson reed plates are about $100 plus the gaskets. Or used to be. Usually that shows by a slight backfireing out the carbs or throttle body at an idle, even when its running up some. Its not too hard of a swap, just clean the gasket areas well, and use new gaskets and seal it.

Looks like the mercury ones are $700! There is some new ones on eBay for much less, $135 i think. Check that out. They are Mercury ones, not Boyeson.

I have a parts motor now so I have new reeds boysens are 185 on Ebay and the claim better power and economy, would this really be noticable? I always ran boysen reeds in my dirt bike
