Hey guys!!
I just moved to St Pete area from Key West. I really need to get out under the water. I know im not expecting the Key West Diving but really need to get out there. I really want to start spearing as i hear thats a good sport around here. Just wanted to introduce my self and see if any one had helpful advise on getting under and start shooting :) thanks!

Welcome to Spearfishing Planet. There are always people needing an extra guy down that way. There are also a few dive/spearfishing clubs down that way. I would just watch the forums and find out whos going out and needs an extra guy. You have came to the right place.

Welcome to SFP. You just confused me because underbluewater is starting a freediving club in Miami then I read this post and think, how could he have moved to St. Pete? Just giving you a heads up that there's a member with an almost identical user name.

As Nathan said, there are always boats looking for an extra diver.
Also, check out Aquatic Obsessions down the street from you. They are spearfish friendly and they have a club that meets there monthly...or at least they use to .

Dive trips are usually posted in the region section or in the private trip section. This board is new so there hasn't been too many requests yet...but there will be.
