Evidence points that he did it from the story I saw on TV a few weeks ago. He had her double her life insurance policy through her work before they left for the trip :redcard:

I'm sorry, but from that article, I don't see any reason for him to be charged with murder. He had her increase her life insurance policy... doesn't everyone do that when they get married? (is my wife out to kill me?!).

She had no equipment malfunctions, no medical conditions, there were divers all around... and he gets charged with murder. Did he 'think' her to death? He said she panicked, knocked his mask off and he surfaced- in the end it sounds terrible, but it is certainly plausible.

Of course my initial bias against the article is because it is Faux News reporting it. Yellow Journalism at its worst.

I can't stand Fox news. I wouldn't believe anything they put out with out verifying it first.

From the report I saw there were witnesses of the couple apparently "hugging" which could allow him being able to turn off her air and hold her while she struggled. Then he simply turned her air back on and let her fall to the bottom.

There's a caption in the story. The wife is seen lying on the bottom toward the background of the pic.

So I finally caught this story on the news last night. From the details they gave it looks to me like he could have easily done this. I'm only looking at the details from the dive. I'll even put to the side that another diver claims they saw him bear hugging her during the dive.

He is an experienced diver. He also holds a stress and rescue cert. He claims his mask and reg were knocked away. He also claims that she was too heavy to lift so he went to the surface to get help.

First, any experience diver who recovers their regulator should have no problem clearing their mask and going after "the love of their life". Second, saying she was too heavy is B.S. One of the main skills in a regular cert is to drop your own weight if you are too heavy and need to surface. Then again in Stress and Rescue they teach you to ditch the troubled persons weight if you need to in order to get them to the surface. Plus you have your BC and her BC to use as a lift. If that doesn't work then you ditch their complete gear in order to get them up. His story just doesn't add up. That or he really wasn't that experienced of a diver.
