I have a question. My yard looks better than ever. I have been putting down stuff to fight the bugs. When I mow I see brown moths leaving the scene. What are they and how do I make them go away.

Come on guys. There's got to be a bug-pesticide guy out there. My yard was destroyed last year by pests. Now it looks pretty good but these brown moths I was told lay eggs that make sod web worms or mole crickets. It took much work to get it back to where it is now and I could use some help to keep it that way.

The moths themselves that you describe are harmless, but they lay the eggs that become sod webworms which will destroy your lawn in a few days. Figure on three weeks from the initial date that you saw the moths for their webworm offspring to start damging your lawn. The catepillars are active only at night and basically skeletonize the grass leaf leaving it with raggedy edges. The first sign will be yellowish brown patches in your lawn.

Unless you feel like resodding you should call a lawn care company ASAP.

Coming from a guy that spreads when they put balls in his mouth.
