Hi guys, im on my first gun build, I have all the materials, and have built a few out of solid wood. Now im on to laminates. I was wonderign which brand/type of epoxy.glue do you guys find the most eficient?

West Systems is the standard, but there are other good ones out there. MAS is very user friendly with a 2:1 mix instead of the 5:1 with West (or 3:1 if you use West 207 hardener).

If you have never used epoxy before, which is easy, but you need to do a few important things. 1st, make sure each part-parts A and B and the wood- is at room temp before mixing. Wood clean and sanded. 2nd, use a calibrated mixing cup-a new one, or really cleaned out one. 3rd, always mix for 3 minutes, scraping the sides well, and preferably pour into a new cup. Coat both sides well, and clamp evenly, using a metal angle iron or aluminum for straightness on both sides, and plenty of clamps. Clamp like you are bolting down an automobile head-tighten all snug-starting at the middle and go back and forth until the ends, and then go back to middle and tighten again, then do it again. You want even pressure. Let sit for overnight. Wax paper or masking tape on anything you dont want it to get on.
