I am new to the board and to spearfishing. I have been trying to get into it for years but always there are obstacles. I have a small speargun now and all the dive gear i need. However there doesnt seem to be any place near me to try from the shore. Or even within a short distance by boat once i get it running again. I have an 18' pontoon boat with a 45 hp outboard on it. I live in palm city so have access to the st lucie inlet and nearby locations, providing the sea is calm. Anyone know if there are any inshore or close places to try for a beginner? Hoping to pick up a pair of kayaks withing the next month or so as well for those just offshore places.

Hi. Post this in the East Coast Florida section and you'll meet some people to go out with in their boats...good luck and be safe.

Welcome to the Planet and to the sport. Like ChuckD mentioned, post your question about close inshore spots within the East Coast section and you'll have a better response and probably meet some local people to dive with. It'll help if you add your location to your profile under the "User CP" section (upper left hand corner).
