So I'm just getting back into freediving and just starting spearfishing I'm seeing a bunch of guys wearing these full body wet suits. Here comes the really dumb question; is there another reason, other than warmth, to wear one while free diving? My depth really does not exceed 60' (at an ABSOLUTE rare max) I'm in Miami dong just about all of my diving here and in the keys. This may sound pretty  so please excuse the lack of knowledge:beer:

From what? Ze Germans?:D

But really, thin fullsuits work great if you are laying on rocks, wrestling fish out of holes, and diving through jellyfish infested bluewater.

if you are freediving you will also be protected from the sun with a full-body suit, probably the biggest reason to have one here in miami. being stung by a man-o-war isn't any fun either, that's the other reason i got one.

if you want a full body suit for the summer check out the pinnacle shadow, it's 110 bucks on leisurepro.com and i know a few guys that have one and like it including me.

my reasons:

to some degree thermal protection, i'm a skinny bastard and a wuss

but more importantly...protection from everything out there both in the water column, on the bottom and swimming.
