I just finished editing some old footage from Kapiti. There's no bloodshed except for some pictures at the end, but it does have some nice close-up shots of several "reef" species. It's amazing how comfortable fish are when you've just got a camera and don't have killing on the brain.

In other news, I took off a few hours early and went to one of the local rivers for some fly fishing. Two hours later, I landed my first two NZ rainbows, took one home for dinner. Man, it was good!

Nice video Kolt. The viz looked nice. Is it usually like that??

Yeah, Kapiti usually has good vis 30-40 foot, sometimes less, but generally good. Hawke's Bay vis is usually 30-40cm. :(

Basically, I live in the black hole of water visability in New Zealand. Driving is the name of the game for me. Luckily, there are plenty of places to go within 3 hours, and lots more in the 4-5 hour range.
