I have come to beg for your knoledge. I have an assortment of gear that i have gathered and used and am trying to become more "safety conscious" as of late. If it works I use it. Diving to about 100' FSW max for spearfishing, usually 40'-60'.

Can you please help me identify the gear I am using? The attached pictures have lables on them to seperate them. Everything works right now but none have been serviced for as long as i have owned them.

Questions:

Can you ID the gear (and if so do service kits exist?)

Should I pay to have them serviced? (dont have a lot of faith in my LDS....if they dont know the brand they will suggest I scrap em)

Save the service money and buy new?

Thank you for any and all help!

First and last ones are Aqualung/US Divers Conshelf's.....good regs, definately worth servicing and using. Parts are still readily available for them.

Middle 2 are Sherwood. Magnum & or Brut with pancake octo, are bottom of the line, but should be more than sufficient for <100fsw.

I still have a chrome Sherwood first stage w/ an old Oasis 2nd, works good. The newer first stages have a low sheen finish.

The Aqua Lungs are good too, definitely worth servicing. A lot of guys sware by the Conshelfs'. I think they are used by some branch of the service?

Finding service for all of those should be easy. There are 2 dive shops in Pt. Charlotte that will work on those any day.

Check the area where the LP Hose goes into the second stages to see if there are any small (hard to see) horizontal cracks in the plastic composite area. These regs had that problem years ago and there was a recall with an upgrade program set up by US Divers. That program is over (i think). If they have any cracks, don't bother putting them back in use.
We rebuild these all the time and the first and second stages are descent work horse regulators.

Nope you don't want any of those "off-brand" regulators. US Divers? Sherwood? Never heard of 'em. I'll take 'em off your hands for $20?

Chum bucket is right, some of the military including Seals if im not mistaken still use those regs (US. Divers). The Company US divers and Aqualung are one in the same. The aqualung Titan uses the same internal parts as the Conshelfs and they have been the same parts for over 20 years. I mean yes, they are terrible regs.

They are OK regs. I have some like in the first and last pictures, but much older-bright chrome 2nd stages. They were some of the first single hose regs, and they are still working. Mine are about 40+ years old. I try them out occaisionally, but they are deep reserve regs, one still has just one hose, thats how I used to use it pre BC days. Every time I need exhalation valves, for the last 20+ years, they always say-we wont be able to work on these any more, as there are no more parts. But they always come up with new parts. Exhalation valves-the little rubber flaps, are the first to go bad, just keep it real clean, and flush good after use. Sherwoods are OK too. Take them all somewhere that works on those types.

The Conshelf regs are basically unchanged after about 40 years of production. Parts kits are expensive for 1st stage as it is a diaphram design.
The Sherwoods are piston regs and the first stage repair kits are dirt cheep.
The hoses are interchangable between regs so you can canabalize if you need to .
They are both workhorse regulators but not what you would buy if you were shopping for new. There are many newer regs that have less cracking effort.

The 2 US Divers regs are balanced diaphram 1st stages and will give you good perfoemance at depth. The govt. still uses Conshelf 14 regs and they are still in production (metal 2nd stage). The Sherwood's that you have are good workhorse regs if your buggin in the keys. They do not perform well at depth. I'm assuming depth is in the mix of your inquirey as you posted in the tec section.
