View Full Version : Dive skin recommendations
pedxing 08-12-2007, 04:40 AM Hey guys,
Going to be heading to Mex in OCT and its supposed to be hot! I need cover though because of the jelly situation and sun down there. So I need something lighter then my 3mm Picasso.
I'm a big fat guy so I need something that will fit 50" chest and 36" waist and has a 30" inseam. Also if it has a loading pad that is a plus.
FisHunter 08-12-2007, 06:58 AM I picked up one at diver dan's in San Jose, they stretch like mad, it is like spandex so the fit should not be a problem. It is so much easer to get your suit on over one. sorry i do not remember the brand.
tom harding 08-12-2007, 12:04 PM try the riffe suit. works good at keeping the stinging stuff off you, and doesn't over heat you.
Speareasy 08-12-2007, 12:22 PM I use this one, it's nice http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/PINSHM.html?Search=op%3ddtSearch%26Term%3dpinnacle %2bshadow%26SearchFlag%3dall%26AdvSrchSortField%3d Relevance%26DescSort%3d0%26Hit%3d1

Are they still selling that thing? How much does it run?
Rinaldo 08-12-2007, 03:44 PM I bought the Evo Skin from diversdirect for Freediving.
It has a lifetime warranty on rips, tears or miscellaneous problems.
It cost $49.99
I also bought an Evo 3 mil wet suit, the wet suit snagged on a reef and tore a hole in it, they replaced it immediately without any question.
I don't like the wet suit though because it's not fitted properly for my dimensions, but I bought it on sale for $79.00
I wash the damn thing in the washing machine, with the lifetime warranty you really can't beat it.
All of their branded stuff is Warrantied for life. If you drop their flashlight or break the knife, rust etc they replace it all. It's hard to beat that.
Sensei 08-13-2007, 01:10 AM How about a Glad trash bag:bringiton:
For about $5 US, you could get an entire set to last you the entire trip. Then you can use them to dispose of the fish carcasses after you have cleaned them. I am however, assuming you will get fish.

Nah I'm there doing an eco trip. I want to find out how to protect all the fish from you evil fish killers. I know for a fact that you people enjoy inflicting pain on these wonderful animals. What makes you feel that you can kill other animals to sate some barbaric need? You should all feel ashamed of yourselves. Going down to our poor southern neighbors and destroying their environment. Just because you have some money doesn't mean that you should rub there faces in it. Why don't you go down there and help the people and set up a sustainable resource for them instead of taking what little they have left.
I on the other hand believe that all life is precious and as such we should protect that which cannot protect itself. I'm going down to mexico to help them save the endangered opeleye. While I don't support these pangeros fishing. I realize that they are poor and have no education and need my help. So I will teach them how to live in harmony with their environment and to protect the very things they are short sightedly destroying. Soon they will be using their pangas as vegatable boxes and will all be vegan.
And my god you heathen you still use trashbags? :pissed: You might as well just *&%$*&%$*&%$*&%$ mother earth in the ass. Haven't you heard about recycling (if you must use such a crass thing as a petroleum product) and composting? You must lower your footprint on this planet otherwise you'll choke and die on your refuse! So go ahead and bow to her, the queen of putrecance, Don't say I didn't warn you!
You should all stop killing the innocent fishies! They feel pain! How would you like it if you were shot for somebody elses pleasure? MURDERERS! Also you earth rapers stop using so many fossil fuels! You people are all evil! I can't believe that you would think I would take fish. Might as well eat a baby. :nono:
To find out more please contact Harold (aka Fuzz)

How about burlap then ? ooooohhhhhhhhh, can you feel the itch? Similar to visiting another popular establishment just south of the border and not wrapping up with latex............ohhh wait, that gives me another idea, how about a giant body condom????
As for killing fish......good try;)
pedxing 08-13-2007, 08:13 PM Only if the burlap is made out of natural organic hemp. But that's the problem. The poor ignorant masses worry that hemp can be used for illegal processes and so fear it. I am trying to help these people out but they just won't listen.
I mean sensei you need to becareful of the latex also. Perhaps your itching is not so much because of the women you frequent but because you have a latex allergy?
And who kills fish? I surely don't. That's wrong and evil. I prefer soy. It's much healthier and better for the environment too. Save the fish!
I mean you heathens on this board still want to kill dolphins! OMG!!! that is so wrong! What did flipper ever do to you. Next you'll be telling me that you guys don't like the sea lions and the beautiful harbor seals.

good point, however, I am one step ahead of you. I have tried lamb skin, supposed to give more "sensation." All it gave me was a rash on a rash.....not so good results.
I would never shoot flipper but I would have no problem letting a monster dog (that's sea lion for some of you people) taste some steel...........or maybe I will just follow him back to his local bouy and let loose a little crouching tiger on his fat ass.......no mercy in this dojo:nono:

Mother Earth weeps for your heartless ways! Do not hurt the innocent sea dogs. They are a good animal that is a joy to behold underwater! I love the sea critters! I couldn't imagine hurting one. Next you'll tell me that you would even try eating a panda. You naughty mean karate man!
And if the lamb gave you a rash you may want to try the butt. The ladies man recommends it.

I hear that the Ancient Chinese Secret is actually to use a sea cucumber. Ribbed for her pleasure:chuck:

I shagged a sheep once while in NZ (we were spearing Narwahls), I didn't care for it. The damn sheep wouldn't shut the f up, ruined my concentration.
I ended up sweeping the knee..........
Back to the question at hand............how about the old tar and feather minus the feather??? If you got real creative you could bring some glitter and roll in that instead of feathers, this would make you into a big flasher.........might bring up some tuna:yay:

Oh you poor heathen. How do I enlighten you into the world of green? Tar is a petroleum product and feathers are taken from a poor defenseless bird! You really need to examine the impact on the world that you are doing. The amount of damage is to high. Please let me help guide you in the ways of environmentalism! First give me all your goods and worldly possessions so that we can enter the world as we should have been. Next you must perform 20 high colonics and fast yourself for 10 days. This will help rid your body of the toxins you have been injesting with the disgusting animal flesh you have eaten.
I will help you more after this is completed.
undrH2Ohntr 08-15-2007, 12:46 PM you could just try like a 2-3m surf suit. The suit allows water in more easily than a freedive suit and thus would keep you cooler and protect from the jellies.
